Typical rust belt rust.  Must have been outside way too long.

While we're at it:
  1) Really glad it arrived.  It is a great read as usual.
  2) IthinkIenjoyeditbutwaytoomanyruntogethersetances.
  3) A lot of the photos seemed to be rather pixelated.
  4) OK, first time with a new editor.  I'm sure next year's issue will be better.

"Back in the day".  Long time reader of Hot Rod Magazine.  You could buy a Chevy stroker right out of the magazine.  But Ford stuff?  Always some kind of NASA shop "could" make it for you at a price.

Kind of like the McQueen owned Cobra, huh?
#66
It was in one of the SAAC annuals.  Seemed to be 2-3 tenths faster at Willow Springs.
#67
I should also mention, sometimes it's an assembly plant thing.
#68
The backward hood scoop: Yeah, testing proved that the car was faster that way, but, seems it was nixed as one of those "we've always done it this way" things.

Also, pay attention to those band/clamps.  Some years have round holes, some years don't.
#70
How long does it take to get the appropriate amount of "dust", thickness wise?
#71
It might come out past the valve cover, try that first.

 1) place some towels, absorber shop rags under the M/C
 2) disconnect the two brake lines, they will drip.  If you are lucky, you might be able to squeeze a
    block-off in each port. (sometimes)
 3) disconnect the vacuum hose, or, maybe pop out the check valve on the booster.
 4) inside near the steering column, remove the nuts that hold the booster in.
4a) (forgot this part) pull the clip for the brake light switch, and slip it and the push rod of the brake pedal
 5) on the firewall, remove the one bolt on the booster bracket.
 6) lift and juggle the assembly out.

If you have to remove the valve cover, you might also have to remove the export brace,

For those reading, this is why I always remind those (before you sell the car) to write down the buyer"s name and address to forward THAT to the registrar, to keep the ownership trail up-to-date.

Remember, every Sears Auto Center sold Magstars back in the 60's.

Short story:  had some Shelby pal of mine tell me a guy where he worked had a set of "Shelby" wheels.  Yep, I bought (by mistake) 4 Chevy bolt pattern 14" Magstars. Took forever to sell them.  Damn.
