  Look for the thread in the 67 Shelby area for my post about purchasing the battery legal Mumbo Jumbo on a plate to glue to the top of your battery if interested.  This would be for the Autolite 65 through 67 batteries that is not repoped and has no correct "topper".

  OK, I thought of this some three years back.  And I had a few made up "battery Legal Mumbo Jumbo" plates made up.  And all I got out of it is a bunch of "that will be points off" BS from a few of our forum experts.  REALLY!
  And still, this pops up from time to time.  You want them.  NOBODY makes the group 24 case and yes, there is a "topper" that has a decal that, in my opinion, is not even close.
  So, let me start by making a list of who is interested in the legal Mumbo-Jumbo plate you can glue to the top of a battery, or the top of the topper, or anywhere else.  PM me.
  Price?  I am not sure yet, but with postage likely about $35 to $40 each.   And, if you have the time, I believe the letters can be removed from the mounting plate and glued on, eliminating the plate.
  The folks who make these said they would rather not made them one at a time, so, this will be a one shot deal like what Nic did with those nose wiring guide he had printed for the 67 center high beams.
 

  Folks, not every Dealer had the chrome script.  Many used decals.  Jack Loftus for instance never had  Loftus license plate frame so I stopped looking.

  Bob:  Seems you posted a sketch of the detent measurements.  I might have printed a copy.  Now I just need to find it if I did.

  All:  Good news is the McMaster - Carr has these spring loaded detent pins in their catalog.  Cannot tell from the photo if I need the 1/4 X 20, or the 3/8 X 24 theaded pin.
  Also need to know if there is any type of depression the the pin slips into or nothing.  That is on the plate that is weled to the side if the shifter mount.

  More of the Lil'Red story can be found in the GT/CS registry book.  It was given 4 pages by Pual Newitt. The photo of the engine compartment is in there.  Funny about the engine color which seems to be Chrysler Aqua, or the same color used on old flat headed Fords in the late 40's / early 1950's
   The car had a few iterations but the photos all seem to be of the latest example.  According to the GT/CS registry, it did not have a twin Paxton set-up.  According to the SAAC registry, it also had a four speed at one time as they left the clutch pedal on it.  Since it was a November/December 1966 build I'm sure it had MagStar wheels at one point.  It was shown at the January 1967 Los Angeles Auto Show.  It is a wonder no photos of it there have yet to be posted.
  Also from the GT/CS registry:  It had the 67 Shelby steering wheel.  Custom Connolly leather seats, Mouton carpeting, Magstars, The 3" wide seat belts (like the 65's), was used as the 67' Shelby de Mexico prototype.

  I'm building a tribute of it down to the metal underlined hood and deck lid - since it is that early of a Shelby conversion.

  The Palmer's car mileage is under 9000K.  It was a drag car for a lot of its life.  And, as seen at SAAC 42, still in its mostly Cobra Kitted Day two  trim.  Love it.

  The 67's.  But, of course I own one.

     But, lately it is the weird one offs, drag cars, off the wall colors, odd ordered optioned ones I find interesting.

They moved the Chicago Concours and "projected" a Concours on Northerly Island (old Meigs Air field on the lakefront) but gee, it has been 3 years now and nothing.  Likely because some palms in Chicago need to be greased (like every thing else).
  There is a new (this year) Concours connected to the Studebaker Museum in South Bend but, after looking over the desired cars, no classes to fit anything like Shelby Mustangs.  You might be able to stretch a Cobra by the rules as they seem to have "English/European car classes.

  There is a two page article in Mustang Times (MCA Feb 2018) about the shifter detent Ford put only on the 67 Mustangs that were ordered with the Competion Suspension option AND automatic transmission.
   If you have a photo of the bottom of the adjuster and the extra welded on plate it rubs, it would be appreciated.  Looking to see if there is a spring loaded ball up inside the adjuster and what the shapes of the detents are in the extra plate.  There are not many of these.  It might be easier to just make one than to wait out Ebay for 20 years.  Thanks.

  Bob G:  I think you posted in the "lost" forum:  The measurement or a side by side shape of the shifter side PRNDL detent differences.  Care to repost?  Thanks.

  Way back when, at SAAC 11 or SAAC 14 -both Dearborn conventions - the talk on the show field was that about 85 cars had it (or is that got it?).  Seems us few early model owners there we not off on the count.

  Not bragging but I've been saying for years it has been less than 200, more likely 180 or so with the scoop lights. 

   And yes, some dope let the word out to Ward Auto Supply that "these fit the 67'Shelby" so they raised the price.

  Yes he does.  He can even take a 120 MPH speedo and turn it into the 140MPH for those building a clone (like me)...another lil'Red is on the way.
