Can we do a  quick refresher as to when coarse thread and finish started on shocks?  I have shock hardware kits completed  and would like to get my info correct before I list them.

I thought it was always 67 fine and then 68-70 coarse.  But I  attained some info from reliable source that leads me to believe 68 had fine also.

Chris:  I will confirm the original 68 Shelbys I've seen were fine thread.  Recently ran into some variances on factory hardware finishes, plus variances in NOS kit.

Which car would this be correct for?

If you have your build sheet, it specifies which radiator suffix is factory.

I have a pair of NOS in Ford package.  I elected to have my originals re-chromed, which I used.  Available if you want to pursue.  Don

68 boot uses nylon lip sewn into edges to grip over top belt molding.  67 still uses multiple snaps on that molding.
The bulk fabric will have a batch date stamped on the back; plus evidence of glue for both foam pads.

Well I tried to do it hear but after several  attempts post pictures  I decided to do it on the Shelby forums as it took 3 seconds .  We all started over there many years ago it may be time to go back there for some of the threads that require pictures .

Back to the original topic, which is a 68 GT500 C6:

All of these are identified by PGB-W tag code, if it is still happens to be attached to the servo (H servo).  The correct main case has different casting characteristics which allow it to fit properly in the F body.  An A body, or truck C6 is not the same main case.  Those may mount to the chassis, but there are other clearance issues without modifications.

and a lot of patients to make it happen.
To be specific no one entered the hospital during the restoration although I did ask Lee to keep a De Fib machine close during judging

Still a possibility.

congrats DON  (that 68 shelby guy)  i used to call him since i have been seeing him last 30 years or so at all swap meets because he used to wear signs on his back wanting 68 parts  :)   It takes years of looking & collecting to find all the correct original parts for a concours restoration .

You can still call me that, Ed; anytime.  By the way, way back in the early 2000's when I attended a SAAC convention at Ontario Speedway, I was wearing my sign and Jay Leno smiles and says  "Ah yes, parts the old fashioned way."  It worked for me many times.

Also, maybe it's the photo, but, those are the best hubcaps I have ever seen, straight up bitchin!!!

Would you believe those are extremely early takeoff wheel covers.  Those came out of San Francisco after I had purchased a set of NOS.  When it came down to selecting-- the originals won!

I sure didn't see that one coming.

So many folks have their fingerprints on this car.  My quest for parts and knowledge has resulted in countless relationships.  My sincere thanks to all.

I will watch my spelling; appreciate your explanation.

After owning #02139 for 29 years, the restoration was finished in time for our Mid-America debut in Tulsa, last weekend.  Many friends from the past several decades actually saw the car for the first time, and the reception was overwhelming.  We are showing in "thoroughbred" equivalent class.  This first time out we scored GOLD, with very positive feedback!

Our thanks to the Mid-America staff and judges;  Having previously spent 25 years in Tulsa, we are proud to be able debut there.

Billups Classic Cars does outstanding work; we are proud to be showing during this the 50th anniversary for the 1968 Shelby.
