1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: hardware
November 11, 2025, 01:13:03 AM
Available from AMK.
If you want to be exact/original, look at the bolts that attach the grill mesh and match those. There were two head markings used:  SEMS (tend to be earlier) which transition to what can be described as kind of a NY Yankees symbol (common on KRs).

These bolts could be referred to as "AO Smith installed bolts" because they attached Shelby parts installed by AO Smith, not at the Metuchen plant.

Can provide photo tomorrow if needed.

Yes, ordered several a few years ago.  As I recall, we talked by phone in combination with their website process.
All were vintage images and none were framed.

Concours Talk / '65 GT350 Cobra intake bolt marking?
October 01, 2025, 04:21:14 PM
Interested in what the original bolt head markings were for street cars (Mar/Apr)?
Was a recessed L5 used?
Thanks for your input.

We had the pleasure of visiting with Miki and Kei again this summer, first in Tulsa, and recently during SAAC-50.  We've grown to expect to see their smiling faces all over this country.  They were a sure sign of summer as they traveled around in their Cobra.

Both were sopping wet from sweat as they piled out the car upon arrival at Tulsa, but no complaints--just hugs and smiles all around.

Oh my goodness, will she be missed!  Our condolences to Mr. Kei and their family.

SAAC-50 / Re: SAAC50 Concours Results

Mike, most of us know you have really nice cars.  Some of the rest of us do, too.
We drove 3 days, each  way, to show our Div. I outdoors at SAAC-50, plus got down on the ground and judged at age 74.
Register your car, now, for IN-SAAC French Lick Concours; haul it to this great, comfortable, indoor venue with on-lift judging.
It's that simple.
Really--it's that simple---just do it!

Quote from: Royce Peterson on August 10, 2025, 05:24:03 PMOne of the pictures - the 21st one - shows the underside of the engine - it also shows the back end of a Cougar GT-E that I am interested in. Anyone know the seller?

Royce, in photo #5 is a window reflection above the motorcycle gas tank that says Evolving Nutrition.  Google it and you will find it is in the same town as the CL ad.  Another pic shows a Kubota dealership next door.  Happy hunting.
Car has Arkansas antique plate, but I don't know the car.
