Basically is inserted inline into the ignition circuit and the light wire goes into the yellow multi hole accessory circuit

This diagram is helpful

Quote from: 98SVT - was 06GT on April 16, 2025, 04:20:10 PMSAAC will not be the same without his leadership and writing. The founders of SAAC are the reason these cars were brought back from obscurity and hold their place in collectors hearts today.
Rick was the face of SAAC since day one. Go back to the mid 70s and you'll see his hand in 90% of the mainstream articles promoting the preservation and authentication of SA products. He was able to talk CS out of retirement and get him to visit SAAC1 in Oakland - the rest is as they say history. I'll even go so far as to say that SA and the Shelbys built by Ford in the last 20 years would not exist today if not for his efforts that have kept the early cars and their influence in 1960s racing in the public eye.
I'm looking forward to his book on the 50 years of SAAC - as well as Bad Moon Rising.
Hopefully SAAC presents him a gold watch on his retirement.
SAAC50 will be a far different event without our patriarch Rick, & Colleen.

Well said. Such a legacy. Best wishes Rick

Quote from: Bob Gaines on April 02, 2025, 09:54:18 AMThe typical go to mirror for the add on 65 is the bullet mirror which would have been the most easily accessed from the Ford parts department and used on all 66's .The Talbot style would be second IMO. Ether way it is your car so do what you think best for you.

I think that's the way I am heading Bob. I like the Bullet

Quote from: camp upshur on April 02, 2025, 12:03:05 AMSmall trivia point but: 1965 GT-350s did not come with side mirrors.
Any side mirror is a non-stock day-two change.

I didn't run one until cited in the mid 1970's.

Agree completely, prob a good survey thread as to everyone's mirror of choice. Still up in the air for me too as to what I do.

Quote from: kranky on March 29, 2025, 11:05:00 AMRoll bar yes as an option from the SA accessories list early on (the front extensions that hug the front windshield don't look like they are there in the October 1965 grainy photo)....roll cage no in 1965....cages didn't start to be the norm until 1967 and on at least in SCCA.

No front extensions the original owner said, it looks identical to the 4 point ones in the R models. Cutouts in the interior panels are lined with door windlace.

Original owner 100% sure it was ordered with it.
Mirror on side I would like to get, anyone make out type?
You should check with Howard to see if he has anything on the rollbar.

Thanks Bob.Been taking to Howard a bit about the race history and roll cage. Filling in some gaps. 2nd owner is also certain he saw the car and it had roll cage in it just after pick up new.

Hard to prove SA put it in, theory was maybe dealer asked them to put it in after? The dealer and SA were close in location

Thanks all. Yeah she has some unusual day 2 stuff. Lots of history to pay homage too. The roll cage is pretty cool. 2nd owner has some more day 2 pics he is digging up and I'll post them once I have them
