Quote from: Nova68 on March 04, 2026, 02:08:37 PMHere we go again all the Shelby experts gotta get there 2 cents in.  Your coments are just like on bring a trailer.  Everyone has to chime in.  Who cares your probably not a player to purchase it.  Its just sad everytime a car is listed somewhere all the experts on here come out to bash it, thinking your doing the hobby a favor.

Yeah, that 'is' the purpose of a specialized forum, where participants are here to share knowledge, insight and comment of and on the particular subject matter relevant.  And if one were a "serious player", what I'd hope for 'is' some critical commenting from the "experts", at least those whom might be more knowledgeable (which in my case probably is most anyone  ::) ) and or just more observant.  I have no need for those just bantering about what a great car it is (might be), not really knowing of what they speak, the individuals doing the selling generally provide adequately here. And this particularly like many in the peanut gallery on B.A.T., whom also aren't "players" either, rather just "wanna-feel-good" posting noise makers ;)

QuoteLike or Hate Dennis people reach out to him and not you, why is that?

If this is actually a question to the forum expecting a response?  Well to me, he's just another "used car salesman", which generally means, in order for him to do business, if selling, your going to be offered something less than what it's worth in the marketplace, and if buying, your going to have to pay more than knowledgeable others thought it was worth!  Which 'is' all O.K. just as long as everyone understands we 'are' doing business, and we're not pals and your really not doing me any favors.  ::)

QuoteHes brought alot of cars back into the hobby that would be just left to rot. His videos are for entertainment, except them for that and nothing more or dont watch them.

Your quite the standard bearer for him and/or his videos.  But do you really think "he's brought a lot of cars back that would otherwise . . . . ."?  And I'll admit, there is "some" information being presented that proves interesting, perhaps we'll say, most being accurate and useful, but the density of this is too low, and the video drags on too long, with just too much dribble, leading anyone, but the absolute novice, to become bored and choose to turn away from it.   ;D

But then, that's what successful u-tube videos are are about, "views", and appealing to the (ignorant) masses, whom wish to be just "entertained",  will get you more hits!   :o

    Scott.

+1 - Thank you for posting this ;-)

The "Premium" doesn't refer to the quality/uniqueness of the car, it's the level of BaT listing the seller signed up for.

Well done, identify all the parts you can - date codes, numbers, stampings, etc.

That car was at one of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix events, looked the same then, that had to be before 2016 or 2017.  I posted a couple photos of it but those would have been on the "crashed" SAAC website?

OK, found them, see attached, from 2013.

Quote from: SHELB66 on February 25, 2026, 11:46:02 PMAnother factory application was the late 60's Mercury Marauder but I believe those wheels were not chromed.  They used a chrome trim ring and may have been 6" wide versus the Shelby's 7" width.

Craig R.

Here is the Marauder wheel, without the trim ring, with the trim ring and the back, also a generic Kelsey wheel center that fits a Mag Star

Classic & Sports Car magazine (an English publication) did a COBRA special edition #27 last year that gave a summary, differences and numbers produced of the AC cars and Cobra versions like the grille front end stuff Ned shared, that might help.

Story also tell just how shaky the AC operation was and how Shelby's orders were important to keeping the doors open.

Sorry I gave the one I had to a buddy and it's now in Connecticut, might find one used ... cover looks like this

Pretty damning to McCoy Motors, that probably resulted in a bad day for the whole operation!

Here is the image of Miles and Sahl in GT/108 cropped-in and sacrificing the lighter and foreground areas to better see the background items on S6001. The stock rear seat components look to be on the roof and under the Shelby "shelf". There is another car behind it as well.

Oh, OK I missed him saying Purple when he was at that car and they didn't show it up close.  That was a buddy's car that George bought after he passed.

It's one of the 29 gray '67 Shelby's they made (all were GG350's), it's not a Mustang color but a Lincoln color that was also used on Thunderbirds - Huntington Gray.  It has a lot of colors in it (blue & red/magenta) and at certain angles and lighting they have a very purple cast to them.  As you walk around it the color changes, you either seem to love it or not.

Here is a photo of another Gray '67 from back when the car was new...

OK, George Conrad collection.  Have been to his place a couple times, Yes he means Bronze on the '67 not Gold and he also, like many, refers to the '67 upper scoop lights as "side marker" lights another mis-spoken comment.

I did not hear him say anything about "purple", maybe that's in part II?

The right reference is an original '67 Wheel Cover emblem, not a steering wheel label.

Artwork and specs created from the Wheel Cover emblem will need to be made as a starting point.

Proper gauge, correct color anodized aluminum plate with correct finish, will need to be sourced, Trimming die, embossing die, printing plates (black and matte clear) and approval, licensing agreement from Ford/Shelby.
