The Carpenter repro is too long and caused needle shake.  I believe I need C9ZF-17260-C. My original is leaking due to burn marks.

Thanks Bob. I will try doing the removal of all the stain to the right of the chrome divider, and re-apply the clear to just that half.  I really don't want to get near the Cobra side with sanding or stain remover.  I appreciate the helpful suggestions.

Thanks for the advice. I'm planning to just use a brush or foam brush and swab some wood stain on only the spots that are peeling.  I don't know if I should use a clear/transparent or a colored stain to match the surrounding wood color.  Also, should I use an oil-based stain?  I'm not shooting for perfection here, but I want it to look better than it does and not as noticeable.

What product can I use to touch up the peeling on my original handle?  Thanks.

I'm not sure if this was said already, but there are 3 series of Pertronix modules; 1, 2, and 3. You have to match the coil to the module series you are using.  I've always used the Pertronix 1 and never had a Pertronix failure in 33 years on two different Shelbys. The 2 & 3 series are more prone to issues from what I have read.

No staggered shocks and the cut out for center exhaust collector should not be all the way to bottom of valance.  At least it isn't on my Shelby.

I think competition red cars got white stripes.  Which red was it?

Hagerty's Drivers Club looks like you still have to pay up to $350 for a tow on top of the annual cost.

Heacock classic charges me $25/vehicle for towing and emergency expense, but has a $200 limit.  It's important to make sure the towing company will send a flatbed.

That sounds like a really stressful event. The homeless people and door opening into your car.  You must have tremendous patience because that would not have ended well for many other people, myself included.  I've had people park near my Shelby and if they look questionable I have stood next to their car door before they open it to prevent a door ding.  It's ok they thought I was crazy. I have also taken everything out of my trunk to reserve space near my Shelby when I had car trouble once in a shopping center lot.

Were not sure where original owner worked?

No, he is deceased.  Current owner doesn't know.  I will ask Vinny when I report myself as the owner in a few months if the stars and planets align.   ;) ;

That makes sense.  I was told the 1st owner worked as a salesman at a ford dealership in Dallas when he ordered the car.  I can't find the dealer id on the red warranty card.

What possible reason would a dealer tag on a car not match the dealer the car was originally shipped to?

I would be interested in seeing before and after pictures Ed.  I'm still running on 4 glued original rims.

Looks suspicious.  Only 2 photos and no price.
