Took 6S550 out for a ride today. Met a man at the hardware store who couldn't believe it was once a rental car. Lots of fun to drive it. Ron

Took 6S550 out for a spin today. Sure felt good. Ron

As far as I know, they have meetings in Denver, once a month. Joe Bolis was running it, the last I knew.

George Paul used to have a couple of Shelbys. He runs a body shop in Pearl,  I think. Ron

Took 550 out today for a trip to the P.O. and bank. Didn't burn 9 gallons, but it sure put a smile on my face. Ron

Joe Bunetic restored mine for 550, and it looks like Shelby just took it out of the box and put it on. Ron

Phil did ours for 550. Great job and short turn around time. Ron

John, You will be in our thoughts and prayers. I guess I won't be able to see your collection in Seattle. Ron and Cheryl McWilliams

As best as I remember, the dash lights on 550 were pretty bright at night. When I lived in Utah,1969, and drove back and forth to Texas, I do not remember them being dim. l made that trip several times, all at night. Ron

Congratulations on the '67. I have a friend who traded his '66 Hertz for a '67 350 a couple of months ago. He had the Hertz for 20 something years Haven't seen it yet, but the pics look great. Ron

If you want it to look like new, try Joe Bunetic. He is just across the river from St. Louis. His number is 618-397-3580. He is sometimes hard to get in contact with. I think he works out of his home. I sent my original carb. off of 6S550. and when I got it back, it looked just like when it was brand new. Joe is not the man to make it run like new. Jim Cowles knows a man who can do that. Ron

Sorry to hear that. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Ron & Cheryl McWilliams

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Story about 6S550

Thought I'd let everyone know about a magazine article about out car. I don't know how to post links, but if you search "FordMuscle", then when you are at their home page, search for "1966GT 350 H" it will take you to the page with pics and the story. It's the black and gold Hertz. Story is mostly correct, except Hot August Nights is in Reno, not Las Vegas,  and we did not take 550 on our trip to Yellowstone. Also, we took 550 to the Cars & Colors show in Telluride, Co. and you can find pics on their web site.  Ron

Looked at motor for 6S550, and it does not have the index hole, and has the cut off corner at the bottom. No reason that it's not the original that came on the car.   Ron
