They are 10 spokes.

At some point, someone put them on a mill or lathe and removed the raised portions (ribbing) of the spokes.

Leaving a flat spoke. If someone wanted to make a fourth, it could be done.

+1, 66 originals. I've seen a few sets done like this, not sure why anyone would want to do it...

Hi all,

The tachometer on 6S2299 is the later style with the pointy needle, usually considered an OTC part.  However, since this a very late build car, do you think it is the assembly line tachometer or service part?  That style of tachometer was available in the early part of 1966.   I have a April 14, 1966 tachometer, same style.  Thoughts?  When did Faria make the switch from straight needle to pointy needle?  When did SAI start receiving the pointy needle later style tachometers?

From my notes the latest straight needle tach I've seen was dated 11/20/66 and the earliest pointed needle tach was dated 3/17/66.

I see no reason why both could not have been used in late 66 GT350's.

Thanks Cory. Interesting that the cars are staged very similarly but the garage doors are different, look white in the first photo and much darker in your third photo.

A few other observations:

1. Shocks look orangeish....Koni's?
2. Looks like black valve covers with natural fins. Could be closed letter or painted open letter.
3. Engine, at least the heads, appear blue.

Door panel trim passenger side different

1965 door panel and glove box door. This is the first Hertz prototype 6S048, a long lost converted carryover car.

Wow, very cool. Now if Ford will only bring back the Ranger with 2 doors and 6 ft bed....

Also possible the proportioning valve is sticking, is yours adjustable? If it is and this happens again you might try that.

Thanks for the testing. The sender you received looks like a typical contemporary aftermarket part, completely different than the photo shown on Daniel Carpenter's website link.

Just heard from Jim Woods (rockhouse66) who has restored many of our distributors, he's in Clyde, NC. Says "No power or internet and phone is sketchy" but hoping for improvements by next week.

I see that the unit that Dave shows in the pictures has the cursive Ford type F along with the 260 stamp in it. Is that correct OE 65/66 289 hipo style or what they would've used from SA? Sounds like the main difference is the lack of red on the insulator, correct?

I believe the 65 Cobra intake used the smaller diameter C5DZ sender.
