It's tricky. I would suggest practicing several times without the gasket and sealer to get the feel. I've wasted many gaskets :(

Just what I wanted to hear :)
Thanks Bob!

Hey All,
Looking to rebuild my master cylinder. When I look online, the kits available say "All except GT350". I'm not sure why the notation, other than maybe they are referring to a MICO master? Seems to me any kit for disc brakes would work, right? If not, can someone refer me to the correct kit.

Thanks,
Tom

Hey All,
I just want to give a shout out to Rraceme (Fred).
I met Fred through this forum. We have a camaraderie in that our two cars #2227 & 2228 are sequential numbers from both Shelby AND the San Jose factory. Both Sapphire Blue.
About a month ago, someone pointed out to me that I was missing the bracket for the torsion spring on the trunk lid. I asked Fred if he happened to have one.
Not only did Fred locate one, he blasted it, painted it Sapphire Blue, and send it to me. I offered to pay him, but he wouldn't accept a dime.

Since buying my car in 2021, I've found that the Shelby community is the best group of motorheads I've ever met.

It's people like Fred that is what makes this group so great.

Well, we know for sure the tabs were bent at least twice to change the wires. I tried to bend one of the tabs (very gently) and it broke. I wouldn't mind cleaning the face and changing the wires, but not at the risk of breaking any more tabs unless I could get a replacement. Where would I look for a replacement?

I'm afraid if I take the bezel off, I will break the tabs. Are replacement bezels available?

My mistake, the wires are stranded.

It's definitely green. Its also solid core wire as opposed to twisted strand.

Hey All,
Wondering if this is correct. The date on my tach is April 19 1966. The wires look wrong in color and gauge. The other tachs I've seen have red, black, and blue wires. Mine are red, green, and yellow. Also the gauge of the wire seems smaller than the other wires under the dash. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Tom

That's pretty damm cool. Very nice job on the scene-matching...and on the audio mixing!

I like that chick. She can drive stick.

Who were the stunt drivers?

Thanks, not sure who was driving on camera, but I did all the driving during the record. 2 mikes under the hood, 2 mikes on the interior, one in the trunk, and one taped to the rear bumper. Plus, a second guy with a boom mike running along side and for pass bys.  9 hours of recording for a 3 minute scene, lol. Lots of vehicular abuse that day.

In 2012, I worked on a TV show called "Alcatraz". I was the Sound Supervisor. The episode featured a recreation of the Bullitt car chase. Ford was involved and they loaned me a new GT to record. We recreated all of the Mustang sounds for the chase. I was a fun project and Ford had a link to it on their website for a while.

Sapphire Blue is the best... although I may be biased :)
Welcome and post pix.

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply, but I was asking if the CASTING date of the main cases were all the same. I understand the ASSEMBLY date for all is C 162.
