Only the original bladder lasted more than five years for me. The last was 55 months, so I got a little break on the cost, as they pro-rate the value like a battery. The custom fuel cells have a 5 year warranty and the others I believe have 2 year warranties.

To anyone interested in a Fuel Safe bladder into a R-model tank, I got my new bladder back from Fuel Safe yesterday and can provide pictures / measurements to anyone interested or if someone wants to post the pictures, will be glad to provide. This is the third bladder, as I originally did this in 1996 for my 65 GT 350 competition replica.

Note: Bladders are only certified for five (5) years.

Good morning all!

Would a 68 KR have the aluminum York compressor? Part # C8AA 2875 A? In addition, what would be the correct A/C clutch and how many belt sheaves should it have?
Are there any identification marks on a A/C clutch?

My car now has the correct brackets and idler pulleys thanks to Bob G., and now I'm looking to check if my compressor and clutch is correct.

Thanks for the help.

Good morning!

Didn't think about checking the paper door shields! The door panels are original and I've been thinking of replacing them, as the chrome foil in some places is missing.
Not sure if any of the reproduction door panels are any good, as I've seen some that do not fit correctly. Does anyone repair / restore original door panels?

Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input.

Everything looks consistent with the glass as far as wear / scratches. I would have thought the 8G date on the rear glass would be OK as well as the windshield. The side glass dates were my concern.

From what I can tell, all sheet metal is original and all fiberglass looks to be original. Car originally shipped to Scottsdale, AZ and later sold to second owner in
Newark, DE. Does have some drag race history at DELMAR Dragway in 1976. (Have a few pictures, but looking for more.)

Any additional comments and input is appreciated.

Thank you.

I've owned 04412 for 38 years and started to check items to see if they are original to the car. Looking at the glass, it appears to be original, however the date codes and orientation of the stamp are of concern. What I have is as follows:

Rear glass: 8G (Can read from exterior)
Passenger window: 7G (Can read from interior)
Passenger vent: 7H (Can read from interior)
Windshield: 8G (Can read from interior)
Drivers window: 7L (Can read from interior)
Drivers vent: 7H (Can read from exterior)

Is it common for the stamps to be mixed exterior and interior read? Do the side window dates seem OK for a July 26th 1968 build? Car was schedule to be built on July 23rd, but was 3 days late. Would have expected 68 date glass?

Any comment or insight is appreciated.

Thank you.

Looks like a tank done for a new style fuel bladder with standard oval fill plate.

I did a fuel cell inside the R-model tanks back in 1996. Currently having a new bladder being fabricated by Fuel Safe to fit the R-model containers. Will post photos if anyone is interested. Already promised a few forum members some photos.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / GT 500KR fan clutch
December 12, 2019, 08:43:11 AM
Does anyone have a late June/ July KR with 4-spd and AC that can check their fan clutch engineering number? My fan clutch needs rebuilt / replaced, and I do not think it is original to the car. It is a E-C8OE-B and information I have so far is the correct fan clutch for AC car is either C8ZX-A or C8OE-C. My car is 04412, so I'd like verification on any cars close in production.

Any experience with the reproduction fan clutches currently being sold?

All information is appreciated. Thank you.

I'm wondering if anyone could verify if my spare wheel and jack / hardware would be correct for a very late 68 KR. (August 23rd build date)

The wheel is a 67 date from what I can tell and is a 15 x 6 Kelsey Hayes with FoMoCo stamp.

I'm pretty sure the j-bolt and wing nut is correct, but not sure about the wheel and jack?

Unable to post pictures on the site, so if you can email me at gt350bp@bellsouth.net I can forward photos for review / comments.

Thank you.

Stephen,

Good morning!

I think I saw it advertised awhile back and it included all the under dash components. I'm just looking for the engine brackets and idlers, as my cars A/C was removed when it was a drag car. All under dash components are intact and original.

Thank you.
