1965 GT350/R-Model / Interior door handles
February 04, 2024, 09:23:23 AM
Can anyone advise on the correct fasteners to secure the interior door handles for a San Jose produced Mustang? Not an early car that would use the "Jesus" clips.

Thank you.

Appeals / Re: SW 240A fuel pumps
November 25, 2023, 06:28:22 PM
Pretty sure the GT 350R's left the factory with a single SW 240A attached to the L.H. trunk hinge support. Only picture that somewhat shows this is in the 65 Registry. (I think that photo was originally in the May 65 Road and Track article on the 65 Shelby's.) Hoping there is a period correct photo in another magazine or maybe even a Shelby memo or sketch that would be a little more detailed.

Appeals / SW 240A fuel pumps
November 15, 2023, 07:26:00 PM
Can't find the recommended inline fuse amperage for a SW 240A fuel pump in the spec and installation sheets I have. Can anyone verify the amperage?

In addition, is there any good period correct photos of an original R-Model SW 240A installation that can be shared?

Thank you.

Need help identifying front coil springs. I think they came from the 69 Boss T/A replica I was building. They are 11 5/8" long.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Roy,

Had to switch the balance on the engine to get it to set down in correctly.

The 482 was built by Keith Kraft and he suggested TD rockers, stands and shafts, so that is what I am using. The cam is a solid roller and am very happy with the results. Engine runs and sounds great with the solid lifters.

Things have been going pretty well here in the swamp, but after 30 years in Florida, I am getting priced out. Insurances and unbridled coastal growth has me looking for cheaper property back up in Western Pennsylvania. I used to live in a town that was considered the best kept secret, but local politicians have let the growth over run the infrastructure. Traffic nightmares, flooding and new apartments and storage facilities on every available space.

Just restored my 68 KR shifter and attached are photos of a small block and big block shifter and rods. Big block reverse shift rod is bent slightly different and has a bevel on the end for clearance. The slot in the shift rod for adjustment is slightly longer as the shifter reverse arm is bent vs. the small block is straight.

I installed Hooker Super Comps on my 68 KR and the easiest way was as follows:

1.) Leave the engine mounts off the engine.
2.) Lower the engine to about 4-6" above final install location.
3.) Slide the headers in from the radiator opening on both sides.
4.) I used the smaller 3/8" diameter head s.s. header bolts and install gaskets and bolts finger tight. Be sure to check headers, gaskets and bolts fit before dropping the engine down in the engine bay.
5.) Install the engine mounts to the engine.
6) Tighten header bolts.
7.) Lower engine onto mounts and install bolts. If you're using a Genesis S.O. block, one mount has to be altered or the engine will set crooked.

One major complaint on the Hooker Super Comps is that the collectors interfere with the floorboard transmission mount. Headers should have been about 1'+ longer and would not have had to grind the collector for clearance.

Hope this helps.

My 68KR had the same issues and I contacted Vic at Cougars Unlimited, and he fixed me up with two flashers and new LED bulbs. Big difference but still need to have the engine running for all bulbs to flash and be bright.

Trying to locate a car for a friend that was last located in the Indianapolis area. Not a Shelby but I thought I would see if anyone recognized the car or knows the person the car was sold to about 35 years ago.

The car is a 66 Mustang coupe in Antique Bronze with C4 automatic, black interior and factory A/C. The car had a black vinyl roof installed that was not a factory option and had Moon hubcaps. Car was sold by my friend's dad to Bob Mathis. This is the car my friend's dad met his future wife. My friend would like to locate and see if any possibility to purchase.

I realize not much to go on, but thought I'd give it a shot.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.
