Many of these I saved from the pre-crash forum. Sorry I can't attribute them back to the original posters, but thought it would be worth having them back out there anyway.
Quote from: shelbydoug on January 28, 2018, 09:01:16 AMI never said a word about SAAC ownership, read my post again!! I stated it should've never happened because of the superb content and all the research over all the years. We all know this ShelbyDoug LOL, shouldn't have to keep rehashing about who owns what, or who does what, etc, etc,,,,Quote from: 69mach351w on January 28, 2018, 08:40:46 AMQuote from: shelbydoug on January 27, 2018, 08:56:58 PMIMO, the crash should've NEVER happened!!! I remember distinctly MANY on here talking concern and there was also talk about who owned the forum, who minds the server, etc,. And after all the concern about these issues for several weeks....... BAM!!!! ALL WAS GONE, VANISHED!!!
Well IF the financial part is the problem, then this is worth some discussion. There are lots of us here that enjoy, promote or do business on and have some kind of vested interest in seeing this forum AND SAAC flourish now and in the future.
It is a way of finding new blood, making new acquaintances and mending old fences.
There have been questions about how SAAC will or can continue into the future and the forum is too valuable of a tool to let go by the waste side and fade into oblivion.
One way of attracting new blood and carrying on what is apparently an infection of passion with Shelby's cars is with this forum. There are hundreds if not thousands that stumble upon it casually and eventually come away with an undeniable if not inexplicable interest in these cars.
All Ron needs to do is create a PayPal account where donations could be sent. You don't need to contribute a fortune, just what you can, anonymously.
There are lots of us who disagree here on relatively petty points but one thing that we all agree upon is wanting to see the interest on these cars continue well past our own lives.
It MIGHT be a time to consider taking advertising here as well?
Like I said, it's worthy of a discussion and consideration?
Some on here may just not understand the magnitude of what was lost because they use this forum as a form of chatting, talking about just "Stuff", why do you all think that the lounge has the most post and threads of any other area?
When I first came on board as a member, I could not believe the knowledge and expertise here and figured this is amazing, the stuff you guys know and ALL the threads of information that you guys generated and researched. This forum is truly the BIBLE of 1st generation Shelbys. Simply put.....AMAZING!!!
I am willing as an SAAC member to pay dues. When I was a member of CMF, I gave several donations several times and I have give donations here as well.
So, with all said, I too, will continue to give and I am willing to pay dues as well![]()
This forum IS NOT owned by SAAC. It is independently owned and SAAC membership fees do no contribute to it's running.
It was created after Shelby blindsided SAAC with a lawsuit claiming intellectual ownership of the SAAC Registry by Shelby himself. It was created to provide a means of support to SAAC in that suit.

Quote from: robert campbell on January 27, 2018, 06:48:18 PMFirst you need to start by spelling Carroll's name right....with 2 LL'sQuote from: kjspeed on January 26, 2018, 09:58:36 AM
Go through the hell of identity theft one time and see if you aren't more careful about sharing personally identifiable information anywhere online. Not trying to be critical of anyone here, just saying...
Been there done that. In this day and age you need to be vigilant and prepared. My name is noting in my mind as far as privacy on the net is concerned. Constant monitoring of your charging activity is the only way to protect yourself.
Let's see!!! From now on my name is Carrol Shelby/Iacocca/Ford!! Go big or go home! Please donate to my Iacocca award foundation, send me chili recipes, and yup of course the Ford foundation!!
Quote from: shelbydoug on January 27, 2018, 04:06:00 PMI'm so sorry, but I meant to say 15 years, 4 months, 3weeks, 2 days and 18 hours. Sorry not getting it exact
I think that is mis-interpretation of the facts? If it was 10 years ago the technology would only allow it to load in 5 minutes.
Now that means there is something wrong with the equipment.
The way this server is wobbling around between ok and crashing again shows it is on it's last legs or maybe just being propped up on it's last legs momentarily?
I think ultimately we, yes me included, are going to have to contribute to a Pitcrew Paypal account for donations to pay for a new server? That may be the only way to fix these issues, i.e., a new server or rent or lease a server monthly?
I seem to remember having a discussion with Ron about 10 years ago and he said a new server was about $18,000, and basically no one wanted or maybe more correctly no one could pay for it at the time?
Anyway anyone looks at this, this forum HAS become the lifeblood of the minute to minute existence of this "club" and it clearly needs it to survive even in the near future. This server issue needs to be remedied?
Any suggestions? I have a roll of quarters I can contribute right now? I'm going to need to keep the dimes and nickels for gas money. I might have more next month when I vacuum out the car?
Quote from: 2112 on January 26, 2018, 07:07:58 PMWell, actually sometimes it don't load after 5 minutes, its gives you the internet server error after waiting patiently for that 5 minutesQuote from: FL SAAC TONY on January 26, 2018, 06:46:08 PM
working great on this side, if it is slow on your side just remember the old ketchup where Carly Simon sang ANTICIPATION.....
If it takes 5 minutes to load a page, it ain't fun.

I can click on anything here on the SAAC forum and it takes forever for the page to show!! The little twirling circle just keeps twirling!!
I don't have trouble any where else on any other forum or any where on the web for that fact except for here on the SAAC forum.
Is this happening to anyone else?
Yup... this is a known issue and we are aware and working on it....
Thanks
Quote from: 427heaven on January 22, 2018, 06:22:23 PMLMAO, I LOVE THIS!!!
In my neck of the woods we put stickers stating the obvious- NOTHING IN THIS TRAILER IS WORTH YOUR LIFE- That way the bad guys have been warned. Friends have mentioned that if a warning sign has been ignored, locks and alarms have been ignored, that sometimes bad things happen to those doing things they shouldn't be doing. The legal system agrees. Don't tread on me still rings clear.
Quote from: KR Convertible on January 24, 2018, 12:41:49 PMNo, because I've got super fast high speed internet service. Like I mentioned, It only happens here. Gets annoying!!
+1
I thought it was just my crappy internet service!
