SAAC-50 / Re: Pictures
August 26, 2025, 10:14:28 PM
Craig Jackson drove Lil Red for Parade Laps on Sunday. Both Lil Red and Green Hornet led the way around Sonoma Raceway for a few laps. Great to hear both cars fire up and go. Very cool.

I got the Open Track reqts, but what is needed to drag race? Is a helmet needed? Tech Inspection? Drivers meeting?

I am not doing Open Track, but I am a drag racer and would love to race my rental Mustang. It's a convertible.

Thanks Doug

Was able to clear my calendar so made a last minute plan to attend SAAC 50. The Cobra Experience event on Fri evening is sold out - so I'm looking for anyone who is now not attending but has 2 tickets they are looking to sell.

Carolina Region SAAC / Re: Hendrick Heritage tour
April 15, 2024, 10:06:58 PM
What a fantastic tour and SAAC Carolina club event. Rick Hendrick's 30+ '67 427 Stingrays of every color combination. No Shelbys in the building, but still some awesome cars - including the original Snake and Mongoose funny cars and their haulers. Hot Wheels come to life!

Thanks Brian, Stan, Peggy and everyone else involved. Recently moved to NC and am glad to now be part of Carolina SAAC.

Up For Auction / Re: 5R002 - Kissimmee - 2022

Already planned to be there - now I'll need to remember to bring my checkbook!

Yes - thanks to Steve, deathsled, Jim W and Terry (TOBKOB)`for a great display of Shelbys. Also 003 and the 509mi 69 GT500. Wow.

But ... my favorite was the Lawman B9. Marcus did such a fantastic job with this car. Only thing missing was Goldberg himself.

My first time. If you've never been - best muscle car show in the world. Put it on your bucket list.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Consensus on BFG TA's
November 09, 2021, 09:58:33 PM
I prefer a little wider style so I've got 255 x 60 x 15. Looks beefier but requires a spacer. I too use Westleys but the new stuff ain't as good as the old stuff. The letters now brown after awhile.

I took the overhead picture just before the parade laps started. There were 70+ cars at the car show - several had left the show field for the parade laps by the time I snapped the photo. There were also a ton of cars in the paddock and garages that didn't park in the car show.

We are staying in South Lake Tahoe - driving up to Reno on Friday. Not sure the details yet as I'm just a tag-a-long. I'll send you a PM with the details and my cell number.

I'll also be going for the first time.  My cousin is RadfordKustoms showing several vehicles at this show.

Just a couple of photos from SAAC 46. One from the Friday night social, one from the Sunday Car show. Thanks to Jay Talbott, Ron Richards and the rest of the SAAC team for great event.
