Thank you!

I usually order from Virginia Mustang...now acquired by Kentucky Mustang.

Your two big choices are either Scott Drake or Wheel Vintique (Coker).  The real decision used to be who painted the charcoal inserts with the most correct color.

I think there are good and bad with both wheel manufacturers, but they probably cancel each other out.  I don't think you can go wrong with either company.

I bought my set in 2010 from Coker as a wheel and tire package.  I am not sure if they were Wheel Vintique back then since they were bouncing back and forth between different companies due to back ordering.

I would lean toward the Vintique over the Drake.

Thanks JD! I was blown away. I thought I was getting an award for the loudest car at the show  ;D  and not Best In Class.

The Shelby was in the Winner's Circle at the 2025 Geneva Concours d'Elegance. The Carl F. Benz Class Award is the highest award given to a car in its class. The trophy has to be over 15 pounds. I was honored.

Quote from: 6T6/7 on August 15, 2025, 09:13:40 PMKelsey does have a Goodyear bias ply sidewall look radial. For a '66 with 14 inch wheels, could just black out "Polyglass" and tire size, as an option.

FR70 would be pretty tall wouldn't they? Possible front fender rubbing, especially if the Shelby drop has been done.

No issues at all...even with my stance.

Those Goodyear are nice, but they are over $500 each....pricey.

Quote from: GT350Nick on August 15, 2025, 07:14:13 PMI agree Bob, but I did not want to start grinding the Wide Oval off without having experience doing it. I need a donor tire to practice on and then I will do it.  I really wanted it to just have the small Firestone.

I also wish that Goodyear made a similar tire in a radial.
Nick, you don't have to grind anything off to black out the white letters. After wiping them down clean for best results you can black out the side wall with a can of semi gloss Krylon . It holds up for years and if touch up is needed like if you hit a curb that blending takes about 2 seconds.  I do it to the BFG tires all of the time .

Seriously? Which Krylon...any of their semi-gloss finishes? They seem to have so many now.

It looks acceptable and really does not look bad?

Thanks Bob

Firestone FR70-14

This is my car, 937, with the incorrect chrome wheels when I bought it and now with the original painted Magnums. I hope this helps.

My '66, steel hood, is painted body color.

The offset on the rear wheels look odd...really sticking out.

Restomod Clone/Replica is my guess.
