https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-shelby-mustang-gt500-convertible-11/

This 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 convertible was built on March 21, 1968, and was delivered new to Yates-Stevens Ford of Kirkwood, Missouri. One of 402 GT500 convertibles produced for the model year, it subsequently spent time in Illinois and Arkansas and was featured on BaT in July 2020 before it was acquired by the seller out of Texas later that month. The car is finished in Sunlit Gold over black vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 428ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a power-operated white soft top, air conditioning, 15″ aluminum 10-spoke wheels, front disc brakes, an AM radio, and a tilting steering column. Service performed since the 2020 BaT auction included overhauls of the convertible top mechanism as well as the suspension, braking, power steering, and exhaust systems. A new clutch was also fitted along with a starter, tires, and speedometer cable. This GT500 is now offered with owner's manuals, a build sheet, a Deluxe Marti Report, service records, and a clean Florida title in the seller's name.

Hello  a friend called me and asked if I can help him with that, they have a ford dealership in germany. They want to update a F150 but its not connecting, with others there is no problem. He think its maybe because of the consumer data agreement that is not signed and he is not able to do that over germany. Can somebody here help him out with this?

Hello, I want to restore some of my holleys back to old glory and I´m not sure which chemicals I have to use to get the same finish like on the 65-70 carbs from holley. Who can help me out with that. I´m in germany and I dont want to send all my carbs arround the globe as there are some real expensive ones I was searching for years. Maybe you guys can help me out with how to´s and videos. I would need the correct procedure for the correct finish on a holley. Thanks...

Just found that at VMF
Your right that carb cleaner (and other solvents) will not remove anodizing. But zinc die cast Holley carburetors are not anodized (an electrolytic process) they are yellow chromate (ie 'Gold Irridite'). Chromate is a cold dip coating (no electrolysis). New castings with fresh chromate coatings are somewhat resistant to solvents but older castings with weathered chromate surfaces (ie 'old and grimy') the chromate is oxidized and will generally wash away especially after extended exposure to the solvent (ie 'dipping').

Is that correct? So the carbs were only put in an chemical bath without electrolysis?

I just found this aluminum tailhousing and I wonder a bit about it, I know its a 71+ part and for a C6 Transmission and it should be from a Torino

But what makes me curious I have never seen some of these with an S at the end of the part number also the big 1A mark. Does somebody here know more about that?

Does somebody know if the book "Ken Miles The Shelby Years by Dave Friedman" was available as a hardcover? I see it somewhere but the isbn code is the same and they say printed in 2021 and these are all softcover. Thanks for the help.

I just want to trade or maybe some parts+money, maybe here is somebody who is doing restoration on instruments and need all of these or some of them. I would look generally for 67 Shelby Parts and 1 or 2 67 Shelby Instruments. Thank you...

One Instrument is a 200 km/h T5 Instrument pretty rare stuff. The one left above.

Maybe someone can tell something about it? Otherwise I´m glad to share it here.

Maybe there is some history about it already here. Description sounds like a "interesting" story.

Chassis SFM5S112 was ordered at Shelby American on 12/22/1964 and was completed on 5/6/1965. The car was first shipped to Ford liaison and Carrol Shelbys right-hand man, Ray Geddes, on consignment as one of the five Public Relations GT350s. Heavily used by Ford, SFMS112 was the only one of the five to have been driven a significant amount. As a result, it was shipped to Hi-Performance Motors of Los Angeles, California to receive a full engine rebuild under warranty in period.

It was not until late 1965 that the first owner, Hank Smith, took delivery with the full intention of turning it into a full-blown racecar. In 1971, SFM5S112 obtained its SCCA logbook and raced for the next 8 years under new owners Meloche, Harvey, Lutes and others. It is prudent to note that in this period it was a dual-purpose vehicle being raced on the weekends, while still being used as a streetcar as photo-documented.

After years of competition use it was retired it was restored by Cobra Automotive to 1965 R-Model trim and specs. Conforming to both HMSA and FIA regulations it made its debut in the Monterey Historic race for the Shelby 50th Anniversary.

Today, chassis SFM5S112 is accompanied by extensive documentation from new and presents in exceptional condition throughout. This car would make a great candidate for vintage racing events (the car is currently registered for street use) or will be a show stopper on your preferred circuit.
