Hockylife, Thanks again. Were asking about the serial number, the second line of numbers below the model type (RUG N 1) on the riveted Transmission tag.
Jeff, I think it's a "7" too.

Thanks guys "Hockeylife" and Jeff.
That's it - OK so it has the RUG N unit, so can you say what the SJ (San Jose) build date of your car was?
Trying to determine when the change from the HEH BX to the RUG in the small blocks started. It seems to be later than previously thought.
Quote from: J_Speegle on June 04, 2021, 08:45:36 PMOk, try again. Correct VIN on bottom, along with big yellow 3.Quote from: Hockeylife on June 04, 2021, 08:20:35 PM
Does this answer your question?
Not JD but the tag on the opposite side would answer which transmission it is. Picture shows the details of just the main case of the transmission shared by many different ones

I notice in the picture of the engine bay of #2645 that the thermostat housing is not painted. Most pictures I've seen of 'restored' engine show the housing painted blue.
Is this another variation or running change in production? What would you expect to see on #2751 from the factory?
Many thanks for any information you can share.
David.
To the questions above...I don't think that is a running change, perhaps as a result of required maintenance and cleaning-up of existing parts at the same time.
Yes, painted blue is what would be expected based on known/believed practices. The coil location would be another item that is not typical of assembly line practice.
Looks to be a very nice car!

Can't tell from that angle, but do you have inboard/outboard lights?
