I believe this one may be a recreation, somewhere in the back of my head I've seen the chassis before.

Only one Gold GT500 fastback, and as of today, I believe it is still Gold in color

With the air cleaner assembly properly installed, take one hand and grasp the heat rider tube, gently move it towards the air cleaner assembly until it is aligned, then push down on the air cleaner snorkel until the heat riser tube seats against it. Again, it's easy to do if the parts you have are correct for the engine, to make it a bit easier, loosen the air cleaner wing nut to allow additional movement.

Got some touch up I want to do on the mesh trim and a couple of the emblems. Can anybody who's done this recommend the correct paint and/or technique? I just figured on finding a similar paint and using a very small paint brush. Any other ideas are welcome.

Go to your local hobby shop, they will have the touch up brushes and the paint colors you require.

Hello SAAC Forum,
I have been a SAAC member for 22 years.

I just purchased CSX4147, and could use some help on its history. It comes with the original statement of origin dated 1999. It also comes with the paperwork from NY where the engine was installed. Other than the gentleman I purchased from, and knowing it was in NY prior to his ownership, I was hoping to see if there
is any additional history.

I went to the cobra registry, and that did not have anything.

Originally delivered to Billy Andrews at HRE as what must only be described as a "pallet" car (my words, not located within the actual registry, but given the following information, once can surmise, I'll leave it at that) per the 4th edition of the World Registry of Cobras and GT40's (publishing date unknown), with the following deleted items noted:wheels, sidepipes, vinyl upholstery, and headers. Also uncertain if the fiberglass body was painted or not at that time.

There is just no room for truck/trailers, or any spectator parking. Only the marque cars, we'll be happy to have you. In fact, I'll probably be parking you. Run me over!

I should have been clearer in my response, I apologize for the minor confusion. 

As for running over Dan, SAAC stopped offering points on such things after an unfortunate foot repair dating back to SAAC at the old Playboy club in NJ 

They are commonly referred to as toilet seat lid type, I wonder why. Yes used on early cars until there were incidents like Asnake refers to. Then there were some guys taking them racing that needed quick hood access hence the teardrop handles. Then Wilmot Breeden did a suitable handle used with a circular base plate that went the rest of Cobra and 427 production. These handles were a locking type with a lock barrel available but had blanking plugs in place of the locks in Cobras and 427's.
