Thanks, my friend!  I gave them the option with respect to gaskets.  They let me provide the parts so I included a cork and a rubber gasket.  They're repairing my stripped oil pan drain plug hole, replacing rear main seal if necessary, and swapping out the incorrect A-servo trans for a correct C-servo trans that I actually procured about 15 years ago.  It actually came out of another Hertz Shelby which was a pleasant surprise.  When I bought it the trans and torque converter had been completely rebuilt.  I also provided the shop with the factory shop manual just in case.

Does anyone have a reference that shows the Cobra Oil pan bolt torque specs & tightening sequence?  My '66 is in the shop and I want to be able to provide this info if necessary.  Being proactive sometimes has its advantages.  Thanks much!

I keep most of my Shelby/Cobra literature in binders using clear binder sleeves.  I kept my early Shelby & Cobra spec sheets in an envelope as they wouldn't fit the standard 8-1/2" wide binder sleeves.  The spec sheets are 9" wide so I finally went searching Amazon and found an inexpensive ($6.99) display book. It contains 30 sleeves that are 9" x 12".  Perfect!  The Amazon ASIN number is B097274CBW in case anyone is interested.

I was organizing some of my Shelby literature and came across a '65 Shelby spec sheet from Bethlehem Suburban Motors in Bethlehem, PA.  I checked the list of Shelby dealers and didn't find them listed.  If  someone showed interest in purchasing one would they have been referred elsewhere or would this dealership attempt to procure one for the customer?  Just curious.

The shop is going to fix the original.  That's the most feasible approach at this time.  Thanks so much for everyone's input.  I was unaware of the quality issues with the repops.

Thanks, Cory!  The only issue at this point is getting the drain plug hole threads repaired.  There are a couple of options but at least it will be easier to work on once removed.

Does anyone know where I can obtain an original or repo oil pan for my '66 Shelby.  The suppliers of the repo units all seem to be out of stock.  The car is in the shop now and the mechanic thought that buying another pan might be better than doing the repairs on my existing pan.  It's already had a corner area repaired (which I was unaware of) and the drain plug pan threads are stripped.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know the origin of this mini poster?  This is printed on semi-gloss paper and measures the standard paper size of 8-1/2 x 11".  I'm familiar with the picture but haven't seen one with an intro date before.

Could this actually be a black car and not blue?  The angle that light reflects off a shiny surface can create some deceptive views at times.

Here's one you that is not seen too often.  It's a brochure inviting customers to see and drive the new 1967 Shelby on November 10, 1966 at their participating Shelby dealership.  This one is from Riesmeyer Motor Co. in Crestwood, MO.  I obtained this not too long ago and have seen only 3-4 of these over the years.  I knew of their existence but was never able to find one for a reasonable price.  The dealer's name is imprinted on the brochure and not stamped.  This particular dealership sold a total of 27 Shelbys.  It was designed to be folded down the center and undoubtedly many were mailed out.  Hopefully Vern and others will chime in with some additional info regarding this brochure.

Mr Gaines is special, do not question that 😉

Sorry, Bob, but you're not "special" as you REALLY WANTED your manual, just not to that extreme!  Some could just care less which is hard to fathom when such an iconic car is involved.
