Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that if one chooses to use Mopar magnums a spacer needs to be used on either the front or rear for clearance.  I remember a Shelby that had such spacers and magnums at the SAAC convention maybe 10+ years ago.

My wife and I watched the movie M*A*S*H last night in his honor.  Laughs galore!  He will certainly be missed.

Now that I like!  That's a decent sized sign too.  Great looking!  Thanks for posting that.

The Lounge / Re: This is why I am not on Ebay much

Quote from: shelbymann1970 on April 15, 2024, 05:46:22 AMI used to look for parts all the time. I have saved searches that I get emails on. I don't have time to sift through all of the BS to see what I am looking for. Any suggestions to get the spam out of ebay searches? I tried tagging some from time to time buy ebay doesn't give a rat's a$$. Here is my email on the 68 Shelby console search. Look at the 5 new "finds".

You're lucky your search is "contaminated" with only 5 totally unrelated items.  I have lots of searches set up under various categories.  The problem searches seem to come up mostly with eBay Motors items.  I've tried placing my search in quotation marks but that doesn't work too well.  It's truly a PITA!!  I wish I knew the answer.  It's definitely a nuisance to weed through 50 totally unrelated items just to possibly find a couple of items related to my original search!  Give this site a try:  https://picclick.com/

Seems to be running quite smoothly.  Thanks very much for providing a smooth transition.

This jumped out at me at a swap meet several years back.  It's a California state issued specialized plate for vehicles from 1922 and earlier or vehicles with an engine that has 16 or more cylinders manufactured prior to 1965.  I have no vehicle that qualifies but that's my Shelby number!  It's in very nice condition and the price was quite reasonable.  I just had to create some confusion by adding the Shelby frame.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Hertz Magnum 500

I've attached a photo of part of the back page from the Motor Wheel catalog for 1970.  They provided the unique Magnum 500 for the '66 Hertz Shelby.  I was hoping to find some correlation between the "1059" that I mentioned earlier and the catalog's wheel number of 36046 which is for the 6" Hertz Magnum.  No luck.  On rare occasion you might see a sticker on the inside of the wheel with ID info.

Denny,

I remember this being brought up before, maybe during the "old" forum.  I don't believe any conclusive information was provided other than wheels with these stampings might be post '66 and were found on wheels manufactured after that time.  I just sold a matching set to a forum member and they all had the same stamping as yours but with different characters.  I'm pretty sure that all four wheels had "4-2-68" along with "1059" handwritten with a marker on the inside.

I picked up this '68 Shelby brochure originally from Gilboy Ford in Allentown, Penn.  I haven't seen much from this dealership in the past.  According to one of the SAAC annuals they sold 62 Shelbys.  I also found a newspaper ad from the Morning Call newspaper in Allentown.  Below is a link to a much better image than the attached photo.
