Quote from: Coralsnake on January 29, 2025, 02:30:36 PMThe only changes I would point out are here

This area would have received little or no red oxide primer under the blackout (ignore circled areas). The exception being the lower areas that face downward. As Mr Speegle said they were sprayed upward from the floor jets. Its not uncommon to find bare steel in many areas. The bottom sides of the aprons and under the battery area/outside being examples.

Typically people use a DP90 for blackout and DP74 for red oxide.

The DP74 is too red in my opinion as the NJ red ox was more brown in color

Next question...undercoating...lol

And it is my understanding that the DP74 is no longer sold in Qrts... gallons only :(

Sorry guys , I wasn't clear. Yes I was referring to the p/s idler arm on the rt frame rail.
Thanks for the responses... it clears up a debate with another owner 😅

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / frame side motor mounts
March 25, 2023, 02:26:00 PM
69 CJ going in. But not really. I have the rt side mount to frame where it belongs, x-member is in, wondering if small and big block frame mounts marked the same and if so, is there a noticeable difference between the two?
This bitch will NOT fit between the frame mounts ! One side will drop in the other just gets hung up and cannot drop into place. Sooo I'm wondering if I got a pair of small block mounts on the frame. New insulators and block plates are properly installed I'm pretty sure (2 bolts to the top).
I have never had this much trouble trying to get one of these muthers set in the car!
Thanks for any suggestions !

Thanks Guys ! Its a 428. I just dont like the fit and frankly, the needle bearings seem pretty cheap.
Think I'm just gonna get it out and go with bronze solid one. Appreciate the input !!

Replacing pilot bearing, got one of the rollorized ones. It does not want to fit flush to the crank? Is this normal ? Never used one before , always used the solid brass ones.
Thanks !
