Move along - nothing to see here.
Cobras have been photographed behind brick buildings ever since CS rented Lance's place.

Over the next weeks the full scope of the tragedy will be known. I already had 3 friends who they or their parents lost everything. This morning was an email from my Model A club that our president had lost his home and cars. All these were in the Eton fire.

I had a ggetc grandfather that had a plantation in the Carolinas. I looked up where it was. It's now called the Great Dismal Swamp. He did participate in the first tax revolt - Culpeper's Rebellion in 1677.

Yep the entire state has gone to hell since 1677!!!

My grandfather didn't fair any better when he was the maint superintendent of the plant producing Ethyl fuel additive in WWII. He and the plant manager with their families lived on site.
Kure Beach, N. C., July 25, 1943, at around 3 a.m., Germany attacked the United States when a surfaced submarine fired five rounds at the local Ethyl-Dow chemical plant intending its damage. The rounds landed in the Cape Fear River near Brunswick County.

Quote from: tesgt350 on January 13, 2025, 02:44:50 PMNot sure if true, but has been in the News on many Channels that many people in the Pacific Palisades recently lost their Home Insurance because the companies pulled out.  Not sure about the Car Insurance.
We don't need to portray the insurance companies as the bad guy for this. Insurance companies saw the risk and asked the CA Insurance Commission for rate increases. Those were denied so the companies decided not to write policies in ALL fire prone areas. The state set up their own program (like they did for earthquakes) - for more money and with a cap on the pay out.
Haggerty Who I have a couple collectable cars with was proactive and sent out emails to their customers with contact and "what to do" information. I don't remember if it came the day the fires started or if they sent it when the warning went out.

SAAC-50 / Re: Cars owned for over 50 years at SAAC 50
January 07, 2025, 03:50:27 PM
Everyone should bring their cars. Park them in sections one day. Owned less than 10 years - 10-19 - 20-29 - 30-39 - 40-49 - 50+ & Original owner. I'd wager we'll see the majority of the restored to Day 1 cars in the under 20 years of ownership and the Day 2 cars in the 30+ group.

How about a chart posted at registration (or by the parking) where you could put your serial number. That way previous owners could easily see if their previous cars were there.

Quote from: gt350shelb on January 04, 2025, 10:22:01 PMall those cars in lax photos with no hoods have intakes and carbs and airfilters  before they  were modified.
Didn't SA at some point send the aluminum accessories and carbs to Ford for installation in the 65-67 period?

Quote from: Bob Gaines on January 02, 2025, 07:14:58 PM..... the finished assemblyline plant then 65-67 CA as stated but 68 was NJ not MI .  69 was MI as stated.
They were sub-assembled in NJ and finished at AO Smith in MI.

Quote from: Road Reptile on January 02, 2025, 08:34:58 PMA.O. Smith was still after Shelby over unpaid work from 1968 so 1 more reason to doubt they did any engine work for 69

AO was not after Shelby. They were after Ford. Ford wholly owned Shelby Automotive. They took over all production and trademarks around August 1967. Shelby was in the ads but he had no input. His Shelby Racing Co had a contract to run in TransAm through the end of the 69 series at which time his presence at Ford ended. By 1969 The GT350 and GT500 both got off the shelf Ford engines.
AO Smith had been building Corvettes for years and was fully capable of doing any modifications to the cars that Ford requested. I've heard at one point they threatened to crush the remaining 69s left on their lot if Ford didn't remove them.

Very much a which year discussion.
65-67 - CA built
68-69 - MI built
What were the Union rules once assembly moved to Ford. The engines were assembled in the engine plant. What were the union rules on who got to touch them and make changes at the assembly plant? It may have been easier to let the contractor (AO Smith) handle all the changes.

Quote from: Royce Peterson on December 31, 2024, 09:54:01 PMI used to live in CA. I left. Best thing I ever did.
I'd move to OK in a heartbeat. We've got friends in Yukon and Claremore but it's too far from the grandson to keep the wife happy. We'd save a fortune on car registration using her tribal ID. https://tagoffice.cherokee.org/registration/fee-schedule/

The UnCobra - AC emblems.
Shelby didn't offer 6000 series Cobras until 2014.
