Before restoration, not exactly something old Shelby would have been driving around in his later years...

Yeah agreed for sure.  I understood from the video Carroll "purchased himself" the car and "then gave to the school".  Since they're not selling it and it's on display in a museum not sure what the benefit would be to make up stories, but what do I know.

My first guess is that it is one of a number of cars purchased by a second party and in collaboration with CS put in his name for the sole purpose of profit resale IMO.There are many that already know the story.  If it is then it may the last car done that way but that last car fact is more of a embarrassment then cool history IMO.

Really respect your history and voice so looking to better understand.  Are you saying it's not a real GT350?
Can't wait!  I'll be there!

Newer member here, but would really appreciate y'alls help if possible.  Mostly a lurker and learner honestly.  Anybody have any suggestions on how to evaluate that Brittany Blue 67 prior to auction?  Have some other conflicts so travel this weekend doesn't work, but even if I were on site I'd want someone with more expertise to help me evaluate it prior to auction.  Appreciate any suggestions.  That car checks most of the boxes for me - may not get it regardless but would hate to miss it because I can't be there in person.

No issue registering to bid online or via phone, just tough to do so without a real evaluation on the car.  I prefer BaT for that reason honestly - feels like you get a much clearer pic of vehicles there than at any of these auctions.  Spent a week in Scottsdale at Barrett and came home empty handed - values there were kind of nutty.  There were a few vehicles that you could buy new at a dealership down the street (we checked) and sold there for $30k - $40k more.  Plus the premium.
