I have a low mileage 66 with a lot of original parts I am cataloging and noticed the cowl seal has two metal tabs on each end that have what looks like the tab is bent over the mounting screws
Is this normal? My other 66 cars just had the flat plate

Is there a vin stamped on the automatic transmission housing? I have a 66 Hertz that was converted to a four speed and want to convert back to an automatic. Recently purchased a C4 and noticed a vin or series of numbers stamped on the top side on a flat tab. The one I purchased reads 135920 and not sure if this is a vin number.

I have two original front bumpers with date codes, 8 15 M4, and 1 31 M3
How do you decipher the date codes?

 I purchased a 66 A code a while back with dual exhaust installed and these were on the car with these paper tags.
There are stampings that read 2.000 AL in two spots on these and would like to know if these are originals?

 I only showed the one side as I am cleaning up the surface rust on them, and they show no major issues or rust thru. Used rust cleaner jell and brass brush with great results.

I'm thinking of using these on my 66 Hertz. Any comments would be appreciated.

What is the correct reproduction condenser available for the small block cars? I see some from the usual repro part houses have one, but the upper mounting brackets are not correct.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did all 66 Hertz cars have the decal describing the brake warning label on the dash? My car currently does not have one and I do not see residue or any faded area under the radio where it may have been.

 I just purchased 5 Hertz rims in driver condition with chrome showing a nice shine. A few of these have rough edges on the outer rim but want to put a better set together for a high-end driver. I just want to see if there are any better rims out there for sale. I would even take one rim if that is what is available.

I am looking at a few sets of Hertz rims on Saturday for my 66 GT 350 and want to know if the spare was a Hertz rim? Not sure if the condition of these and they may need to be re chromed.

 If anyone has rims, they are looking to sell, please let me know as I want to put together a nice set for my car.

I have a 66 Hertz, #1178 and working on installing new shocks. Using a non-original style shock but want to have the correct color. I am aware the car did not come with Konis so they will not be the orange color. What color would be suggested for me to paint the new shocks?

I purchased a 66 GT 350 Hertz a few months back and starting some detail work in the engine bay to freshen up the look. I have a few questions related to the thermostat area and radiator hose.

The elbow hose painted Blue along with the tower clamps.

The heater hose elbow on top of the intake painted Blue.


I removed the original upper and lower radiator hose and noticed the replacement markings are different. The upper reads C5ZE-8286-A and has an AY next to the Fomoco label. The lower hose reads C4ZE-8260-A with the AY next to the Fomoco label.

Are the reproductions just a generic version of the originals?

I have a 66 GT 350 Hertz and working on detailing the engine bay area. Pulled the radiator and fan shroud to start cleaning and repaint and did a comparison with two other shrouds I have. The first photo shows all three together with the original on the right with the mounting tabs attached. Noticed the one in the middle which I believe is NOS from a large number of parts I purchased has a thicker bottom edge as shown in the side-by-side photos. Are these differences from production changes?

NOS set of taillight extension wires. I believe this is a set of left and right, notice one side without the tag has longer wires.

I have owned this for years and not sure which cars it fits. Purchased for my 69 GT350 but I found the correct one. I used a hub from a 65 Mustang to show the bolt pattern is for a Ford, but do not see a Ford logo. Any help would be appreciated

I had a few sets of these left over and time to let them go. As you can see one is broken in half, but the other one is fine. The chrome shines bright on both of these and not pitted as shown in the photos. There is a small crack on the complete housing at the attaching bolt on the small louver and should be easy to work around.

Nice original passenger side quarter trim panel. Condition is shown in the photos with nice grain/texture to the fiberglass panel and bright shine on the chrome. There is a small crack in photo 2 that can be repaired with minimal effort.
