Is there any Shelby documentation on the use of steel hoods on the 66's? Specifically on the 4-speeds?
Or a time frame on when they might of been used?

1965 Shelby GT 350R Race car that is the new build by the well-respected, top engineering genius Pete Hood of his famous Charlie Kemp #23 top Shelby race car, looking as the original with Kemp's famous dayglo front bumper so everyone could see him coming, see the photo of this car in the infield at Daytona, it featured superior handling and set many winning records, one can find the Kemp #23 in all the racing archives plus there is a model of this famous car. The original ShelbyGT350R when raced by Charlie Kemp finished 42 races and won 34 .Winning 17 races in a row. It had the highest top speed for a GT350 ever recorded of 184 MPH. Hear the awesome sound of this very strong radical Pete Hood engine that produces a massive 504 horsepower with 14.1 compression that shows in the dyno sheet, this uses race gas for such a high output, note that here is a fresh race car
build that is even far better than the original since the new racing rules now allow the 302CID block and uprated heads, this is set up for great race car superior handling is perfected, correct Shelby Wimbledon White with Blue striping along with rear window support, built from an original, rare San Jose 'R model' 2+2 as a dated production unit, exception chassis with special support as the roll cage was built into the original
construction yielding a more solid chassis, this is even better handling than the original #23, a stripped interior with interior roll bars, a Racemark racing seat and race belts, note the famous #23 first sold for $1,300,000 by Fraser Dante with RM at Amelia Island and then resold at the $2,000,000 level as this is such a famous car ...this has proper paint and a solid body, a serious vintage race car that is built by a top famous professional technician!  This car was test driven and skid pad tested and set up by Charlie Kemp.

The dates for the next Fall Classic have been changed.
The new date is October 17-18, 2025 , French Lick Hotel and Resort,
French Lick, Indiana.
We will again have SAAC judged concours classes (judged on a four post lift), for Shelby, Cobra, GT40, and Boss Mustang.
Also will have display class for all the above plus Fox Body Mustangs, Pantera, Tiger, Cougar
and such.
Registration will open next July.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the tragic death of fellow Indiana SAAC board member, David Groeinger .

He served as IN SAAC treasurer, among his various other club duties. And has been a lifelong Ford enthusiast, and a great friend to many.

Have had a leaking oil pan so thought I would replace the seal.
Removed starter, dropped steering linkage, removed cross member and dropped pan.
All Good at this point.
Using Fel-Pro Gasket # OS 13260 C
Cork gasket on pan - perfect fit. End seals--- can't get them to stay in place. Seems to be to wide.

Any suggestions? Or maybe a different brand of gasket?

Also can't get pan to clear oil pump pickup - by about 1/8" , any ideas?
If engine was out of car it wouldn't be an issue.

Thought this would be a quickie-------WRONG!

Who do you use to rebuild 66 Shelby , brake proportioning valve?

Is it possible to remove aluminum oil pan from 66 GT350H while engine is still in the car?
Never attempted this, but would rather not pull the engine.

We had our board meeting today, and are set to go for the 44th Indiana SAAC Spring Fling.
May 20, 21, 22.
Have a special guest speaker lined up, and are expecting a fantastic turn out.
Newsletter with registration info should hit the mailbox late Feb. or early March.
We are waiting to see how the state of Indiana sets Covid guidelines for the spring before we make final adjustments.
Can't hardly wait!

It is looking like Indiana SAAC will be having another Fall Classic for Oct. 2021. Organizing this event has just begun, but we are trying to do it again.
Same location as last year--- French Lick, Indiana.
