Regional Shows and Events / MCACN 2025
October 11, 2025, 09:18:48 AM
Hi Gentlemens, MCACN 2025 is on the way , and fortunately i'll go there !

This year at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show we will be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the 1965 Shelby GT350.
Noted Shelby historian Colin Comer has assembled a stellar group of significant 1965 GT350s that will be joining us from across the country.
Within this Incredible display will be the Ken Miles "Flying R Model" and also the reunion of the only two 1965 GT350 Rally cars, 5S243 and 5S249, that haven't been together since 1965!
Don't miss the celebration!

1965 GT350/R-Model / KONI Classic on 65 GT350
June 02, 2024, 07:09:02 AM
Hi gentlemen ,it's time to replace the 10 years old AVON on 241, no more available in 2024,i'm going for the Michelin XWX 205/70/15 , and i m going to replace the old 1980's front KONI for a new set of Koni Classic edition with the correct stickers.
my question here is on those koni coming out of the box ,what ride stiffness i can expect , should i tune them few half turns from the standard out of the box set up ?
i like the car the way it is now , and don't want to get a soft ride ,i m thinking to count the turns on the ones that are on the car now until minimum and put the same numbers on the new ones i guess it should be close ? Any feed back from your experience ?
Thank you.

I would like to let you guys know that Charles took time and energy to make some really top quality tire covers for the 65 GT350 (thank you  ;) ), i bought one years ago to put in 5S241 to keep my original from  further sun-deteriorations, i guarantee you won't be disappointed in spending money on those .
I m not getting anything for doing this advertising , i just want to let know other owners who are looking for the best parts available to replace some "impossible original-parts to find" you can go for those  !
Chris.

First you need to buy the good " double ribbed" oil filter .

Then remove the gasket and tape to make sure nothing goes inside .

i used some chemichal paint remover to get it to metal .

Then sanding and primer .

Fresh black satin paint .

Some light coating of yellow paint on the stamp

and after few times , here you go :

Not perfect , but i think good for division 2 concours . I had hard time to stamp them right , i tried to roll the filter on the stamp blocked on a table , tried to have the filter fixed and stamping by hand , but either way it's complicated to have it straight or even the stamping in full shape , if somebody did it and got a better result please let me know how !
thank's to Charles for the stamps model.
