1965 GT350/R-Model / Blue Dot Alignment
December 28, 2024, 02:23:38 PM
I'm about to mount Blue Dots on my '65. Does it matter where the actual dot is aligned with the valve stem? I've heard the dot needs to be directly above the valve stem because it was a "quick and easy indicator for race teams to locate the valve stem." That sounds a little bit over the top to me. Thanks!

Wanted to Buy / Vintage SAAC/SAAC-9 Decal
October 17, 2024, 08:18:49 PM
This cool old SAAC decal has been riding around on the bumper of 5S501 for decades- probably since the late '70s. Unfortunately, while it was in the shop for some minor paint fixes, a guy badly scratched the bumper and now it needs to be re-chromed.

I am hoping to find another vintage sticker with lots of patina -OR- a sticker from SAAC-9 in Anaheim. According to the Registry, 5S501 "won the concourse" in 1984. Thanks for any help, guys!

SAAC-50 / RV Parking?
October 17, 2024, 03:07:35 PM
Hello,

Does anyone know yet if RV Parking and also overnight motorhome camping will be allowed in the paddock area at SAAC 50? Is that a track decision or a SAAC decision?

Thanks!

Wanted to Buy / G2 Radiator for '65 GT350
September 11, 2024, 07:21:05 PM
My dad is searching for a correct radiator for 5S501. It's my understanding that would be a C4ZE-G2. Thanks for any leads!

Shelby American History / Signature ID?
August 14, 2024, 11:07:16 PM
Can anyone identify the upper signature? Al Dowd is the lower. I have two SAI checks with from late 1966 when '67 production began with this same signature. Would love to know who it is. Thanks!

1965 GT350/R-Model / Cast Iron T-10 Housing?
July 31, 2024, 11:08:54 PM
Looking at a possible '65 purchase. Are there any known street cars that were produced with a cast iron T-10 housing? Page 229 of the 2011 Registry says the R-Models could have had either aluminum or cast, but from what I'm seeing it appears the street cars only had aluminum. Thanks!

Swap Meet / '67 "Long Tab" Steering Wheel Swap
January 15, 2024, 07:04:29 PM
I have a "Long Tab" 1967 wheel in good condition on #0083 that I'm hoping to trade for a correct "Short Tab" wheel with someone who has the opposite problem. It has an older crack that is visible, but the wheel has been professionally restored (see pics). I'm willing to pay to upgrade if your Short Tab wheel is in better condition. The bag of Cheetos in the fourth pic is NOT included with the trade. Thanks!

My dad is searching for very nice original valve covers for his concourse Boss 351. It is my understanding that Boss 302/351 covers are identical, but maybe someone who knows for certain could confirm or correct that.

Thanks!

Looking for an original because the repro I just got is junk. I only need one but would consider a pair if that's my only option. Patina is great, but no rips/tears in the rubber, please. Thanks!

Concours Talk / 1967 K-Code Valve Covers
December 19, 2021, 11:05:37 PM
Hi Guys,

I hope this question is okay to pose here as I'm guessing one of you knows the answer.... I am buying a fairly rare 1967 K-Code Mustang that currently has Cobra valve covers. In researching what would have been correct, I am reading conflicting information as to whether or not they were the same chrome versions as the '66. The attached screenshot of a Motor Trend article appears to be the most credible source that they were somehow different. I appreciate any help you can offer!

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Red Light in Scoop Removal
April 24, 2020, 02:57:53 PM
I am painting an early "red light" car. The lenses in the scoops haven't been removed in decades. It looks like they should come off with a counter-clockwise turn, but I don't want to break them trying something incorrect. Please advise! Thanks

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / 1966 #0083
April 22, 2020, 04:45:37 PM
Hello, I have 1967 #0083 and my father owns 1968 #0083. Just for fun, I'm trying to track down more information on what happened to 1966 #0083. The Registry just states that the car was destroyed and the owner has the tag. Any thought/ideas? Thank you! -Ryan
