Because I don't know why do some of some of these cars travel from auction to auction? I read Muscle Machines magazine and the writer notes that this happens. I keep my vehicles for a long time. My last daily driver I put almost 250k miles on it before I decided it was time for a change.

I understand the purpose of list silverton_ford created but I logged into the website and typed in just Shelby. There is a lot of cars listed at this auction. Not sure if I have seen this many in one auction. Looks like it might be a great one to watch.

2006-up Shelby GT/GT-H / Re: Depreciation
December 31, 2024, 12:35:13 PM
As the owner of a 08 Shelby-GT I enjoy everything about the car. This was my first new car purchase. I can't sell it for what I paid for it but maybe that will change over time. It gets driven to work, for pleasure and vacation. During SAAC-49 I spoke to members who stated that they paid around $1500 for their first Shelby from the previous owner. Did anybody think that a 65-70 Shelby would be worth what they are valued today? Until that time I am going to drive my car as Shelby intended them to be. I have a co-worker who keeps his 07 Shelby in a bubble and can't understand how I could drive my car the way I do. Have a great day fellow Shelby owners.

Great looking car. A lot of time must of been spent to the body to look that good. The panel gap looks better that some new cars. Thanks for sharing.

Up For Auction / Re: 9F03R481878 on BAT

I think that it's great the members of this group try to inform and educate both buyers and sellers even if the seller doesn't listen. I attended an auction that was near my location and saw vehicles that could be described as sketchy at best. A member of my car club has had to fix cars people have bought at auctions.

Thank you SAAC for helping organizing SAAC-49 I was able to attend the Simeone Museum. This was on my bucket list also. Great collection of automobiles. If you are in the mood for a cheesesteak check out Phillip's Steak nearby. Not fancy but recommended by someone working at Simeone.

You might want to check that answer on Halotron being illegal to use. Still for sale and used in the power plants.

I purchased a Halotron fire extinguisher for my Shelby several years ago. Great for electrical fires without leaving a residue that must be cleaned up quickly if using a standard extinguisher. - Kevin

You are correct vtgt500 about descending vultures. My wife and I had a will created years ago and we are in our 50's. My Shelby is to be sold.

SAAC-49 / Re: Great time at SAAC 49
August 01, 2024, 01:05:58 PM
This was my wife's and I third SAAC event. Good time was had by all. We really enjoyed the Friday evening. I finally got to check out the Simeone Museum. Always great to see a large collection of Shelby automobiles and talk to the owners. People who have owned their cars for 50 years. The roads were not much to be desired in NJ. -Kevin

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Slash

I like it. It only has a few Shelby bits on it not a full-blown fake. I've seen him perform in a few different bands over the years. I went to a car show in Manchester, CT and was beat by a kid placed in my show class with a fake.

As you stated a regular spare tire will not fit over the Brembo caliper that's why I carry a GT500 as a spare. It sticks up higher in the trunk than a normal spare would but I travel to other states and don't want to be stuck.

When I purchased my Shelby GT new it only came with the tire inflator kit and compressor. I installed Brembo brakes on mine and put a GT500 wheel and tire in the spare tire area. Not a perfect fit but better than nothing. I also added a jack. There is a section in the forum for our cars if you have any additional questions.
