I raced a lot of FE´s and also I have driven them on normal roads and in my opinion all FE´s need 95 Octane due to the head design + piston clearance between the heads at top dead center. Thats also the reason why spark plug reading is not really effective as they usually should be grey when the engines ran perfect. I measured a lot of FE´s on the Road and adjusted them and when I even went to safe rich settings the spark plugs were white-grey which has to do with the combustion chamber setup from the factory.

For your problem it would be good to know if the popping comes when you are at normal throttle and then hit the pedal hard to the floor which would tell me your second carb is reacting to fast. Maybe it's also just fuel as I said I never would go under 95 with these engines. Also please take a close look to your ignition is there enough voltage at the Coil+Distributor and at the end check your spark plug wires and more important the spark plugs and gaps. Sometimes just spark plugs can cause this problem. I only use NGK since 25 years.

Thank you Rick. I wish you a very good time and a relaxed retirement. Spend your time now with some other things that maybe came to short in the last 50 Years. Have a wonderful time.

That's good news, we have the same laws in Europe. One more step to freedom for people like us. Jay Leno for President. ;D

Ok let me ask a question here. I have a right+left fender made from the original Ford Tooling and still in the box, some here maybe remember these were made some years ago. What are these worth? I have seen some that sold a while ago for something I couldn't believe.

I only have these ones if you are looking for some other books also.

Maybe someone here can help me I´m looking for a window sticker for my 2010 F250 and what ever is in the Ford computer about this car. I only want to collect some data about it. I already have a carfax but it's pretty empty as it maybe was a government car in the US or Europe I´m not sure. Thanks for helping me...

p.s you always can send me a personal message

Parts For Sale / Re: 10 X 2 1/2” FoMoCo brake drums
February 09, 2025, 03:55:32 PM
As my Shelby was build in the last week of LAX I wonder if there was a Shelby that was a Mustang built so late at Ford Motor Company for the Shelby Motor Company in LAX as I think they recieved the brakes at the Ford Motor Company or did Shelby changed them to 2 1/2" in LAX and it was not done by Ford directly when they build the Mustang?

Now a good question which Mustang has the latest build date in San Jose for the 1967 Shelbys?

in my opinion Hemmings is a good place to start for the beginning. I still like it as there are more older car guys and these are really nice people to do business with. But you maybe need some more time with Hemmings. Bringatrailer is good, achieves higher prices the most of the time, but you always have to pay them and the buyer also has a 5% fee.

One of the best sale opportunities is also old school go to car meets, have fun and maybe find some interested buyers.
