I'm pretty sure these brackets for the parking brake cables are supposed to be phosphate and oil but I wanted to make sure/ or are they supposed to be plated?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Interior Paint Code

Quote from: JD on August 16, 2025, 12:21:20 AMThis is what I used years ago...

as Jeff & Bob stated, clean and prep well without degrading the metal stamped  texture, prime with black light coat.
Add flattener to get the right sheen & make sure you get ALL the metal parts, there are more than you might realize.

There was a thread with more on this topic, will add the link if I can find it - found it.

this is a good paint code for interior 32586 as JD has pointed out. it can be mixed in DBC base coat, ppg, it will match better if you leave out half the metallics in the formula and maybe 15% more black. not clear over it and dont paint wet as Jeff has pointed out...

again I didn't take this car apart originally so not sure about this... did the convertible deck lid use the stock rubber bumpers or did they get modified with the adjustable ones and were they put in the trunk gutter corner? I have this evidence that someone drilled them in to gutter corner but an not sure this is correct?

Steering column signal horn wiring harness had a sleeve that held all the wires together routing down the bottom steering  column partrly covered with that metal flat shield that attaches to bottom of column. Also another wireing  covering behind dash cluster holding wires together.
I agree it looks like that.... but is there any other place it might have been used. these are just a little more rubbery in feel and thicker but pretty sure they were on some part of this 69... thanks Jeremy

I need help figuring out what these brackets are for or if they are even for this 1969 shelby gt350 convertible? maybe interior quarter panel brackets?

well it looks like I found the answer, the washer that is used on 69-70 heater/ AC box to mount it to firewall and cover the adjustment slots is 2 1/4 inch and is natural and is usually cover by the black sealant that seals holes from engine fumes.

can anyone tell me the correct size washer and finish for attaching a/c - heater box. I think the washer I have is close but might be a little to small?

can some give me a picture of the correct hardware for the ro bar mounting on a 69 gt350 convertible? thanks Jeremy
also I'm still looking for a picture of the side scoops removed so I can see how and what kind of tape was used to apply them.

If you look at Bob's pics it appears the bracket is mounted  the way you see it in my pic below if you were peering into the trunk from the rear of the car.
It sure looks close in appearance to the ebay bracket posted earlier too.
I'd say the same. That ebay one is heavily corroded/pitted. Weird in that my orange one above came out of a 70 so badly rusted structurally that when it was dragged on the salvage yard flat bed I kept the vert structural plate on it because I was afraid to go underneath and take it off. The front was on jack stands and the rear held up by the "rear end/trans" stand I made up out of unistrut. Took all the suspension off the car. The car had a 69 front end, doors(mach1 door panels)  and 69 tilt-away wheel on the car and the core support still had a 69 Mach1 428CJ R-code buck tag which I still have. 2 cars in one? Accidents happened...Great parts car back around 1991.
if you have it and are willing to sell it message me, thanks Jeremy
