jeb67  just went thru this same issue you are having.... car # 273  rusted metal trunk lid frame... Only one way to do it correctly.... Split the frame from the fiberglass and we used a NOS trunk lid and split the skin off the frame... done exactly as it was done and rebonded everything fiberglassed everything...  we have 50-60 hours in it but it came out absolutely perfect and correct. Anything less is perfume on a pig. Just My 2 cents  If you contact me I can send you some pics and tricks on what and how we did what we needed to do. Ken 734.231.7634

Thank you everyone on the input for stripes First and foremost the stripes will go on last after everything is hung weighted and settled down... The sheet metal moves... As for the block yes there is not one between the fender and door.... all good  I thought some of the lettering was not quite correct in the font?  Still have a long way to go but will be enjoying every minute  to come.

Ready for the Side stripes on 1967 #273 GT500 who has the best quality and correct stripes  some pics of the restoration attached. Been way too long... thank you for the help Ken

Jeff Burgy was also the person to work on one of the Cobras to first get the hood open..... cable was broken. and replace some of the missing pasts such as the intake... Perhaps he will chime in and tell the back story on the cars and we can give him credit where credit is due... Jeff is a super guy with a true love of the Marque....

Just make sure you find or use NEW  Bonded if thats what you have to have. I had a bad experience with NOS Bonded shoes some 20 years ago . After installing them on my 66  the brake pedal felt really weird. turned out  the glue/bonding after all these years came apart, I had a few sets back then and my friends dad still had a 50's brake pad rivet machine, and we put rivets in the originals. Never an issue again, later on I was able to buy a whole case of segmented riveted shoes, which I recently sold.

Time to sell it ...1967 NOS Deck lid  Ford box states( Panel assembly Luggage compartment)! and end caps still in original boxes. This is the later all fiberglass unit used late in production of the Shelby GT500 and GT350  for 1967. Boxes are dated  11/29/68  These are absolutely perfect for a correct concourse restoration.
