Another possible problem may be torque converter leak back. Especially if over filled. I know my 500 will leak a fair amount when it sits for a longer period of time, seems the transmission pan gets too full and out she comes around the side linkage! I solved my issue by running tranny with fluid down a bit. Falls into that category of " it worked for me "

Boy did that start my 17 degree day get going here in Spokane. Easy to forget how fortunate you are to be able to sit in the driver seat of one of these amazing machines! I might just get the snow tires out!!!

Time to let loose of a very nice wheel I took off a wrecked 66 Hertz car probably 40 yrs ago? It has a small crack at about the nine o'clock position, it was there at removal and has not changed. all parts solid with very good chrome. You can buy a new one for less but IMHO they can be spotted from 10 feet! Asking $650.00   plus shipping.   Roger

NOS never mounted AC compressor, I do not have the original box, there are some areas where the factory paint has been worn off from handling. I have had this for 30 yrs.  $600.00 plus cost of shipping,  Roger

Several years back I refurbished my original bj/bk carbs including replating and recoloring where needed. While they are not going to fool anybody as far as assembly line appearance, I was pretty happy with them. After lots of tinkering, I got them working well. As stated earlier in this thread, they work amazingly well once you get them dialed in. I decided to buy a set of the new issue BK/BJ carbs from Branda, and put my original ones on the shelf. After installing the replacement set, I found basically no difference in the way the engine ran, so I thought I must of done something right on the rebuild.
These carbs went right on without any alteration to the orig configuration, easy deal! While they are a little spendy, and not spot on in appearance, they fall in the category of " They worked for me"

Another problem may be causing some of your issues. There appears to be the tell tale signs of discoloration in the inside of the air horns, indicating a presence of backfire, which may have taken out the power valves.

I have a very nice original C7ZX manifold all cleaned up and ready for service,had it for many years.
