Too bad, it was a good Northeast location and a great facility with excellent amenities. The track people were great to work with for the GT 60th event. It will be missed.

GT40 - Original/Mk V / Want to win a GT40?
June 15, 2025, 05:49:00 PM
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix does a sweepstakes car every year to raise funds for the Autism charities they support. Last two years were C8 Corvettes, one a Z51. But after hosting the 2024 GT Reunion they pulled all the stops out......the 2025 Sweepstakes award car is a Superformance GT40 MK I in Gulf livery powered by a Roush 427 Windsor with Webers! Or you can take $175,000.00, but you know all your car friends will shun you for the rest of your life if you do.

To enter go here and use the code "autoventure" for extra entries https://www.tapkat.org/pittsburgh-vintage-grand-prix-association/8548n5?promo=autoventure

Good luck and we expect to see this GT40 at the next SAAC convention!

Jeff was the gold standard for a friend. Here he is in February in Naples for the "Cars on Fifth" event. Jeff with another derelict (there would be a second in the photo, but I was taking the picture). If you were in his "car show photos" email chain, you had hours of entertainment.

Last year the charity giveaway car was a Corvette Z06....nice, but no GT! A Gulf spec Superformance GT40 MK I is the giveaway this year. Roush 427, Quaife transaxle and buildout by Olthoff Racing, valued at over $250,000.

This raffle has raised millions for the charities the PVGP supports and this year we expect a record. You can purchase entries and receive additional entries as well as some GT Reunion premiums with this code: https://mailchi.mp/pvgp/rickmuck

You can purchase entries for gifts and keep the premiums for yourself (we won't tell!) ;)

We have some inventory on many of these items from the 2024 GT Reunion. https://fordgtreunion.com/merch/

The metal signs are on heavy steel and enameled; they are not the regular tin pressed stuff you see at swap meets. The Miles P1015 prints are the last of the 50 limited edition, artist signed prints as now displayed at the Shelby American Collection in Boulder. Reunion apparel is still available, and you can customize shirts with your name, car number, etc.

Because this event is part of the PVGP we had no control over the date conflict. This was announced before the SAAC dates were revealed (although I am sure that SAAC had the track/date locked in long before it was announced).

We wish that there was no overlap, but it is what it is. We do have several people registered who are coming from SAAC Saturday afternoon for the Sunday GT race and show.

I'm bummed I must miss SAAC!

Host hotel is the Marriott Pittsburgh North in Cranberry, the same as used for SAAC in July. Reservations are here:  https://www.marriott.com/events/start.mi?id=1701885356394&key=GRP

Car wash station, 24-hour security in the lot for cars, trucks/trailers, etc. The Friday evening program will be there as well. And the hotel has thrown us a 1-hour FREE wine and beer service before the dinner.

Replicas and Tribute / New 67 "Shelbys"
December 05, 2023, 08:11:11 AM
Now available, new 'Repromod" 67 GT500 and GT350s. https://hitechlegends.com/

I have seen them and whatever your take is on "Continuation/replica/etc." cars, these are very well built. Done by Hi Tech Automotive in South Africa the body is not an off the shelf Dynacorn but rather assembled by Hi Tech in their own jigs and fixtures. The people I know who have driven them were impressed with the handling and solid feel of the chassis.

With Revology and others in the Repromod business, Hi Tech was determined to be different and provide what they feel is a superior product.

I have no connection with these other than being friends with the factory owner so no skin in the game for me.
