QuoteFuel safe has you send in your old fuel cell to them to guarantee a fit I assume. Given that they require to have your old fuel cell anyway I doubt any additional paperwork from Shelby would be helpful or what am I missing?

Bob, I do not believe you are missing anything. I was under the impression that the OP did not know the bladder manufacturer nor any of the specifications of the bladder which is why I suggested he have SAI look up those details for him.

Did not know that fuel safe requires they do the bladder installation, shipping the fuel cell to and from isn't the cheapest thing but I suppose it falls under a maintenance expense for the owner.

Quote from: Coralsnake on May 09, 2026, 05:34:09 PMContrary to BaT popular opinion, I don't think, a 76 year old Carroll Shelby was driving this car around Las Vegas.

Yup ............... and how about a photo of that ;)

Gotta love the BaT peanut gallery comments, yes they can be snarky at times but the comments can also contain many facts but only if one wants to acknowledge them.

While not assembly line correct looks like a nice vehicle and hopefully someone in the EU is looking for a 1967. I do not see the bringing the vehicle back to the U.S. cost effective unless it hammers extremely low.

Quote from: 98SVT - was 06GT on May 08, 2026, 12:03:01 PMDo the cars come from Kirkham with the fuel cells installed or is it something SA changes/adds?
That might be another source.

Sorry for the 289/427 mixup - it's hard to tell the players without a scorecard.
Keep in mind that the building of Continuation Cobra's by SAI has constantly changed throughout the years so the build process from 1997 will be different than the build process used in 2007 or 2017 but in my expereience any SAI installed bladders will have the certification paperwork from FuelSafe in the individual Cobra build file which is why I suggested calling SAI' sales department and asking them to pull your specific CSX file as to provide the owner with details. Seems the easiest way to me.

And cool Cobra model chart. Thanks for posting that as I've not seen it before. SAI would be doing a great service if they hung a large copy of that chart in their Heritage center.

Quote from: 6S896 on April 12, 2026, 07:54:36 PMHello everyone, hope you are well. Where would be a suggestion to get a new fuel cell bladder for a csx8000 series car. Thanks
You could always phone the sales department at Shelby American, 702-942-7325, with your CSX number and have them look up which bladder was originally installed during the build of this contination Cobra.

Quote from: stangman39 on May 05, 2026, 11:08:04 AMThe scammers think they are smart taking pics from BaT from 3-5 years ago!
They wouldn't be doing it if the scam didn't work. Keep in mind that many scammers are just looking for a "deposit" from as many people as they can. A $10k deposit from ten people equals a $100k payday for just quickly replying to some messages/emails before the scammer moves on to the next collector vehicle for sale ad scam.

Quote from: 2008 GT-C on May 05, 2026, 06:42:15 AMReviewing pictures from the Hagerty website that is a copy of the Green Hornet. They make copies of everything. Thank you for the correction.
The SAI tour guides do not always make it clear that some vehicles in SAI's Heritage center are newer built Licensee products from companies like Superformance, Revology, OVC, Legendary GT, Tuscany, etc. so its easy for visitors to mistakenly believe they are looking at an original.

The black GT350 I believe is a Revology continuation build. Green & Red recreation prototypes are Barry Smith.

Quote from: shelby001 on February 19, 2026, 01:58:30 PMWhy did the window sticker say not legal for sale ? What was missing on the GT500 that were sent to SAI that made them NOT LEGAL FOR SALE?

It's not like the vehicle had parts missing that made it unsafe to drive but was more for Federal compliance reasons. For example the EPA fuel mileage rating was not printed on the Ford Monroney label as the lower KR EPA fuel rating was placed on the KR supplemental Monroney label.

Other non-compliance issues were the vehicle not having a "modified by Shelby" door jamb sticker, a new underhood emissions label along with needing a new door jamb tire size sticker due to the larger KR wheels/tires.

So the Ford lawyers had their Monroney label marked as not legal for sale in the off chance the vehicle somehow was shipped to the ordering Ford dealership and not Shelby Automobiles. And yes that could and di happen with one of Shelby GT's. It took legal action to get the dealership to return the incomplete vehicle.

Those are Barry Smith aka Legendary GT continuation cars.
