The 2006 was rated at 325 hp while the 2007 was rated at 319 hp.  I wondered why and goggled it.  Here's the response:

Despite using the exact same Ford Racing Power Pack hardware, the 2006 Shelby GT-H and the 2007 Shelby GT carry different official ratings due to a recertification process.

Hardware Identity:
Both models utilize the same Ford Racing "FR1" Power Pack, which includes a 90mm cold-air intake, high-flow X-pipe, performance mufflers, and a specialized engine calibration requiring premium fuel.

Initial 2006 Rating:
When the Shelby GT-H was introduced as a limited "Rent-a-Racer" for Hertz in 2006, Ford and Shelby initially estimated and advertised its output at 325 hp.

2007 Recertification:
For the 2007 retail release of the Shelby GT (the consumer version of the GT-H), Ford underwent a formal SAE J1349 net horsepower certification for the package. This official testing resulted in a finalized rating of 319 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque.

Legacy Discrepancy:
While some later 2007 GT-H convertibles were still marketed with the "325 hp" figure in promotional materials, the standard production Shelby GT adopted the certified 319 hp rating for its entire run.

So basically, other than "bragging rights," they put out the same hp.

Thanks guys, appreciate the welcome.  The '06 GT-H and '14 GT500 handle very similar.  Both have an overly stiff suspension for normal driving.  The '14 as it was designed to reach 200 mph and needed it, I would guess the GT-H's to upgrade it from the regular Mustang GT which already had a heavy duty suspension from the factory. Both are great for me except over bad roads and railroad tracks (LOL). I had a 2011 GT500 prior and it rode much better as a cruiser as it was factory limited to 155 mph and didn't that really stiff suspension. If you want a great driver/cruiser and plan on driving it a lot, I'd go for an 2011/12 Shelby GT500. These had the lighter weight aluminum 5.4L which took about 100 pounds off the front end.  I drove a 2013 Boss 302 and thought my 2011 GT500 handled just as well but with another 100 hp.

The GT-H is a fun driver, but I'd really like to take advantage of the 93 octane fuel we have in my area and I use in it.  I know the car was tuned for 91, but I did a 93 octane tune on my GT500 and it increased my gas mileage along with a few more horses. The GT-H could use that along with a boost in the automatic's performance.  It feels like it could use a little help also (LOL).  I don't plan on any heavy mods, but a little help would be nice.

Thanks again for the welcome.

Got a 2006 Shelby GT-H #444 couple of months ago.  Kind of a nice bookend to my 2014 GT500 I bought new almost 12 years ago. I've had various Mustangs through the years dating back to 1970.  I've always liked the S-197 body style as it's reminiscent of the 1967-70 Sportsroof body style.  I plan on driving it. it came with 29K miles on it and I've put about a thousand more on it in the last four months. I'm at the age when I enjoy my cars and will let the next guy worry about restoration (LOL).

It's interesting in that it drives and handles pretty much like my '14 GT500, only with about half the horsepower (325 hp vs 662 hp).  My daily driver is a 2019 Ecoboost convertible with Pony Package and Ford Performance Tune Package so it's probably a little faster than the GTH. For really slow driving I still have a 1970 Mach 1 with 351C and a 5-speed, with is fun, but not as fast as the other three.
