QuoteHere's the NOS original 1964 truck bumper chrome versions with non clear glass lens that were repurposed by Shelby and brass metal painted black. Unfortunately when installed into the fiberglass tail light panel the bezel metal prongs really chew up the edges of the plastic panel hole and many fell out and were lost. Some lucky owners noticed them loose and applied sealant and rotated them slightly after reinstalling to engage in better section of fiberglass edge. Very common issue you see replaced with the wrong only half shrouded no 64TK marking white plastic lens made in China make shift solution.

Nuke GT where can you get these?

I ended up using the old twisted and bent link.  The new one was dead straight and bound in the lock.  I also noticed that the lock key head was binding with the fiberglass panel so I ground down the head of the key to see if that would help.

MY 69 GT350 came to me missing a fuel tank and filler pipe.  I have dropped in a standard 20 gallon tank and purchased a standard stock filler pipe.  However then the filler pipe is set into place the bottom end of the pipe completely misses the opening.  It fall short of the tank inlet.  Did Fort make a special fuel tank tube for this year and model.  If so where can I find one?  I have researched all the usual sources like NPD and so on.
thanks

MY 69 Shelby came to me missing a lot of rare parts.  This includes the toggle style switches mounted in the center console that control fog lights.  I have seen some NOS switches on Ebay at insane prices.  So I was wondering if anyone has an out of the box solution on aftermarket part source or solution to this?

I do not know anyone that has a similar car.  In fact the only one that I was able to photograph was a convertible that I saw at a car show and I took as many pictures as I could.  But you never get enough pictures do you.

thank you to everyone that has chimed in

Working on my 1969 GT350 jigsaw puzzle leads to the following question.  I have a dropped in a standard 20 gallon tank into the chassis well, fits perfect.  When I mock up the center exhaust collector it seems that there is not enough space for it to fit between the tank and the valance.
Did Shelby use a smaller tank or was the valance a custom part that created more space behind the valance?  All of the documentation that I have does not address this question so any insight would be appreciated  I don't like the idea of the exhaust collector against the fuel tank.

Yes this is an alignment issue.  The lock cylinder is mounted higher than the engagement opening in the body of the latch.  The metal link that connects the lock to the latch is at an angle that is steep enough so that it is binding within the latch so that it will not rotate.  I cant be the only one that has had this issue.

For the 1969 fast back mustang I have factory service manuals and I have also a Shelby parts list.  I have also searched all of the normal web sites for the answers I seek.  This includes cobranda and other similar sites.  Yes the valance is stock and i misspoke.  What I am trying to discern is what fastener was used by Ford to attach the fiberglass tail panel to the chassis.  This is the panel that the rear lights are mounted to. The AMK fastener book is a good resource but does it address what was used for a special production vehicles?  If so I will get it on order ASAP.
thank you for your interest.
As to aquiring an assembly line manual, I have not seen that resource on the usual sites like NPD etc. but I would love to have one.

i have a similar question as to what are the type-and finish of the screws that attach the rear fiberglass valence to the chassis.  I know that they are sheet metal type screws but not sure at to head and finish.

Thank you for your response.  It is a fastback body type.  The "link" between the lock and the latch is the problem as it binds.  The weatherstripping is from NPD and I think this is a Daniel Carpenter part.  I had them build a custom seal kit for me.

I am restoring a 69 GT350 that I acquired partially disassembled with missing parts.  It is a giant jig saw puzzle with missing pieces, so I hope that some has run into this issue.  I just installed new weatherstripping on the trunk or deck lid.  To get the lid to drop so that the lid is in alignment with the end caps and the decorative lace cross band I have to adjust the latch down.  When I do this the key lock binds because the connecting piece that connects the lock to the latch is forced down at too much of an angle and binds when it rotates in the latch Did Shelby use a stock trunk latch or did have a latch that was custom?
Any work around would be helpful too.'\
thanks in advance
