Likely do but really don't save as many restored cars since just about all of them have something that might not be fully correct and by using them as examples you and others are likely going to see and copy those details as well as others. Every restored car is a representation of what, if the car was even original, the builder/owner saw, maybe documents and made a choice about and so few cars today are on their 1st restoration. Plus there are a ton of pictures to review and go through if that task would be taken up given the vast majority of cars are restored both well and not so well
I know that many would find it useful to have an Easy button - a collection of pictures where each builder would just copy some "reference car". Of course then we would not have cars that reflected what these cars did look like originally but instead cookie cutters of one another. Over the years you could and can see this at shows or on the internet/magazines. To the point on many you could tell who's car they copied - what magazine, month and issue.
A simple no would have been ok Jeff.
Thank you.

This creates a glossier finish that we would find on other brackets or the engine compartment walls. When clean or new they stand out against the other blacks you will find on the carJeff do you have a pic of what the underside of the engine compartment should appear?Concours coloring and finish?
Quote from: J_Speegle on August 17, 2024, 12:39:37 AMCorrect paint colors? Since you wrote that you are restoring the car you should be aware of that very little of the suspension had paint on it originally. Lots of bare steel and heat treated/quenched steel made up the vast majority of the parts. Many had bright freshly machined or ground areas for special purposes.Jeff you quote heat treated/quenched steel, how do you replicate that look? Once you bead blast parts what are you using to get this look?
Lower (fixed from originally posting upperA arms were painted but only the inner (as mounted) approx 2/3rds of the assembled arm.
Quote from: J_Speegle on September 23, 2024, 05:28:55 PMYes the upper a arm bushings are threaded as shown in the picture belowJeff what about the flat headed screw that appears as if it holds the outer nut that threads into shaft? Also in your Pic it only shows a rubber o ring is that all that hardware and it doesn't use a rubber bushing like other upper control arm shafts? I have not disassembled mine yet but was inquiring so I have all when reassembling.
As for the markings there are typically stampings near the inner arms where the bushings are attached and out towards the end (ball joint) as Bob mentioned. IMO the markings are part of the details that make up the car. The weight you place on them may not be the same as another person. It's your choice and car when choosing how far you will go. For many its a very difficult location to see so they are sometimes over looked or not added if someone is restoring a car with reproduction parts
