Since we are strolling down memory lane, I thought that I would share a unique NorCal SAAC experience with everyone.
It was 1984-85 when the club was heading to Laguna Seca for an open track event. I drove down from Sacramento in my 66GT350 to meet 50 plus members in San Jose and drive down as a group to the track. Everything was somewhat orderly and calm until we entered Highway 17 heading to Santa Cruz. Some of us were confused and thought we were already on the track in Salinas and started passing each other and rapidly increasing speeds.  If you remember we were driving original Cobras and Shelby's on the street and track at this time. It was all fun and games until the CHP pulled up behind us, drove through the group to the front of the pack and slowed us all down to 55 mph or so and escorted us all the way to Santa Cruz.
As we passed the CHP leaving Santa Cruz, we all knew they had radios and were quite capable of notifying CHP ahead of us. The rest of the drive was rather slow and boring, but we all arrived at LaguaSeca and enjoyed a great weekend of open track driving.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: Gas Monkey video

I don't know when this video was created or when Gas Monkey visited Muskogee Oklahoma to see these cars.  I attended an auction in Shawnee Oklahoma last Saturday and I believe the very same 63 split window corvette was auctioned off; the details of the owner and the corvette appear identical. It sold for 140K. The offer of 130K from Richard was very accurate based on the condition of the car. I wonder where the 68 Shelby convertible is?
