I believe you are saying that the crankshaft has experienced a spun a rod bearing in the past and has been repaired, his having required that the crankshaft be turned to .020" undersize; and the question being is this a sound repair process?

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 289 Hipo it's the original vin stamped motor to my car. Its standard bore but due to a spun rod bearing the crank is turned to 20 over. Will that crank be ok to run.  I don't plan on driving the car hard since it's an automatic car. Should I stay with a solid lifter cam or is a hydraulic cam ok to run now days?

Correctly dated parts isn't everyone's priority but if I were to happen to come across a closely dated carb I wouldn't ignore it.

Yes I would like to get it running and driving with period correct parts. Date codes aren't as important but if I can find the right date codes for a reasonable I would buy it.

I think from what everyone is  saying that would be for a 67 Shelby gt350.    will this be ok to run my 66. Would the jetting be the same for a 66 and 67. Also where do I go to buy the correct Tri-Y headers.

I'm in the process of reviving my 1966 gt350 that came factory with an automatic transmission.  When my dad bought this car in the early 1980's it wasn't running and  missing some original parts. It's been in storage ever since. I have been reading that after car #800 they came with the 4100 series carb.  my car is #366.  What would be the correct carb?  The last time this car was on the road and running was 1978.  It's time to get it road worthy. My next question did the automatic cars come with the tri-Y headers?  I have the motor apart and found it has a spun rod bearing and one of the cam bearings were installed incorrectly blocking the oil passage. It has a standard bore. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Bob.   I have a friend that works for Hagerty. I will give him a call   I have a couple people want to buy it thinking it's a project.   This is a very nice clean car.  It just needs the usual stuff done like fuel system, Brakes, cooling system to get back on the road.   The paint and  interior are really nice.

So my brother has a 1968 GT350 Shelby which he has owned since the late 70's.  It's been in storage since 1981-82ish and always been in California .  The car was blue when he first got it but had it painted Black.   Very rust free straight car.   He wants to sale it but doesn't know what it should sale for.  Any help for a asking price would be appreciated.

My brother and both own 1968 GT 350's since the late 1970's.  They haven't seen the light of day since the mid 1980's.   Some day I will get mine back on the road.  My brother on the other hand won't.  It will be a future barn find.    Both our cars are not in the registry.   

289 Small letter Cobra Intake manifold.  No part number model. It's in very good condition.  It does have some pitting in the water ports.  Asking $1800 plus shipping.  Sorry I couldn't down photos but if your interested email me and I will send photos.
