Earlier than that

Have seen those engineering #'s many times. 2" spacing is an early/late thing but early was real early like Decemberish

Recesssed head with lock washer and SEMS is typical but I've seen others. 5/16 18 thread. AMK lists it under 12313 but I've not seen the head marking they have on an original car

Correct as in head markings or bolt style/size?

Shelby= 31 spline
J code Mustang 28 spline

C8ZX G would not be original to a 68 350. KR auto/AC open

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: GT500 Brake issues

Slight difference. 2.5 vs 1.75 rear brakes but that won't make it do what you are describing. Check prop valve function or possible blockage in lines/hoses

Just reading this thread. Yes the 323 flasher would have been first thing to check however the e flasher side was never changed from common 552 flasher and will typically only fire inner and middle bulbs

The correct transmission is the sum of its parts which assembled is identified by by a number in this case PGB W iirc. Many parts are common to car line in other words, the main case and tail would be common to any other cougar or Mustang with a C6. Galaxie tail longer. Tail was not cast iron until CJ came out. Servo, valve body and other internal parts different from standard S code C6. Also not specifically trans but 67 used a modified shifter as well

Wanted to Buy / 67/68 mustang fastback trunk lid
May 11, 2026, 06:44:44 AM
Looking to buy clean 67 or 68 Mustang fastback trunk lid. I don't care about the outer metal just need the inner frame to be solid and not all twisted. Would prefer non-trunk light version like 67 but I can use either. Please email me directly. TimothyLea7@gmail.com.

Before this thread goes south and is detrimental to the sale let me answer a few things. The original tag is missing. Unfortunate and yes does affect value but more importantly is the car the car it started to be? I have inspected this car for a potential buyer and there is no doubt this is #1146 and the Ford numbers which are present on both aprons match the Shelby number on shock tower. Overall very nice car, if anyone is seriously interested they can contact me directly

Anyone looking at this car should proceed cautiously IMO
