I assuming you don't have access to a tumbler but having done probably 40-50 sets we blast them with light media then tumble them. Then spray reflective paint inside using corks to keep socket holes un painted. Not a detail anyone will see but the masking of reflective side was originally done as a box, tape doesn't follow curves of side lips. When done can't tell from NOS

Parts For Sale / Medium riser block, side oiler
December 03, 2025, 03:49:45 PM
This is non ribbed sideoiler block that came out of a running car with less than 100 miles on it. All machine work down, sleeved to standard bore, line honed, decked etc. Here's the only negative. At some point it was partially core filled. The drain plugs are free so that tells you how little was in there. Only reason I changed it is I found a better date that lines up with my car. A steal at $2000, check current prices these are selling for 4-5000 without machine work.

Very few carb restorers will take the time to remove well plugs in metering blocks and properly clean/un clog. Without that a carb will display exactly symptoms you are describing

Wanted to Buy / 69 Boss 9 engine
November 15, 2025, 08:22:20 AM
Looking for a 69 Boss 9 engine. My first choice would be a rebuilt one block, but also open to individual items such as block heads, etc. Must be an HP block, no NASCAR. no junk or blown up stuff.

I have a friend that has one of the old 60's Broncos and wants a top notch restoration. Any body know who specializes in these?
Thanks

I guess I've been doing it all wrong making cars correct all these years. I could have just been screwing quarter panels on with sheet metal screws and making people happy  ;D
