Vern, it was one of your old posts that I used for reference of the inside printing. I was hoping to get a reply from you; you are the man! Thank you so much for your reply, I highly value your expert opinion.

Best,
Steve

I know this has been covered before in various posts (which have used in reference, thanks to those who provided the info). I have an opportunity to purchase this and wanted to ask is there any reason not to believe that this is original manual? The cover page lettering spacing looks correct, the font and lettering on the cutaway page looks correct for a first printing, based on some prior posts on the forum (although they were done quite a while back).  I'm not aware of any recent reproductions that are this close to an original. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They had to take off more metal than I hoped,...........

Do have an idea of the depth-of-cut required?

     Scott.

Scott, I'll try to find out.

Thanks all for your comments. I agree with Bob totally; they'll be going on a nicely (not over) restored driver, and yes, the unrestored wheels did look a bit out of place. I've got Magnums on it now, but looking forward to when I can reunite it with the original wheels.

Just got my first wheel back from Pico Wheel. I think they did a great job considering what they had to work with. At some point prior to my ownership someone sandblasted the wheels, which didn't do the aluminum any good. They had to take off more metal than I hoped, but the wheels have really deep pits. Here's a pic of the wheel I just got back next to one that goes out next week. These are the original wheels to 6S1366 and I really wanted to keep them with my car.

Conover Racing
Hanover, PA.
I emailed Tony Conover a few days ago about some work, he said they're scaling back on restorations, pretty much just mechanical work. Too bad, he's done some beautiful restorations.

I know they're in Virginia, but Brant really likes Maple Hill Restoration. From what I've seen, they do really nice work.

Brian, I got your car's twin, #1366, out yesterday. How many 55 degree days do we get in Maryland at the end of January, with no salt on the roads? Not many!
