Ever put a vacuum gauge on the booster? Low vacuum may be the problem

I was able to do mine by taking out the export brace and the master cylinder. Then the booster came out without removing the valve cover

Shelby VIN plate looks to be gone. Wonder if it got rebodied?

I had the original faded black metallic as undercoat on the plastic interior pieces and used two light coats from spray cans and it came out great. Covered, no runs and the grain is intact.

I would just buy it direct from NPD in a spray can.

Don't think that I have ever seen a regular 1967 GT500 go for anywhere near $852k.
