Hopefully they invite Allen Grant as a VIP with 2300 at Monterey. This was basically his car for the '65 season. He talked Shelby into letting him drive and work on his own car much like McDonald. This is the Daytona in the infamous loading photo where Allen slid off the ramps, though I'm sure he's tired of that story. My guess this brings $30M.

One of the engines that was swapped out at Le Mans in '65 was the experimental 325ci engine in the Rob Walker GT40 driven by Bondurant and Maglioli. Bob mentioned later that he really liked the 325 as it made a lot of torque coming out of the slower corners, much better than a 289. Alas his GT40 was a DNF with the swapped 289.

Saw this car at the Fountain Hills C&C this morning. Stunning and sounds great too. Seems like a good price for an AC built aluminum Cobra. Wish I had room.
