Never know, in the 80's I went to a friends family gathering in Washington state. Come to find out his uncle was a pot grower and in the barn was 2 (68 Shelby's) One was a convertible GT500 and the other was a gold GT350 fastback. He stole them both. I know the convert was stripped and long gone but the fastback was taken out of LA area and driven to Washington. I think it is still there in the barn. I remember a story of someone that use to own a gold one and how it was taken. I did reach out with info to them regarding the info I had at the time. Never  received a reply. Told him what town it was in and the persons name.

There is still cars hidden. I know of these not for sale.

Called and talked with Mr Turner, Asked if he ever had a 1967 Shelby GT500 come in wrecked he said no never. Also he said California is real strict on selling black license plates from the yard. So Jim Morrisons of the doors car never made it to this place.

Blows my mind to see a place like this. Our wrecking yards are small and all picked over. Mostly crushed them.

Watched a internet video on this place. Wow 75 acres. Opened in 1960 still open. Wonder if anyone ever asked if they happen to have VRD 389 black license plates hanging around. Or walked around and looks at the mustangs there.

Quote from: Gregory177 on November 03, 2025, 06:48:51 PMI have a set of 68 shelby taillight plates. This is all 6 plates I believe to be original.
 $350.00 plus shipping

That is a fair price. Seen them sell for more.

As for me I found these at Walmart online and like the look. They were $3.00 each. Since my car will be a mod.

Working getting a 7ft surfboard now. Will post final look with the board when I am able.

Hope everyone enjoyed the journey of this posting so far.

For the small box latch buckle, the size of the buckle is 3/4 x 3/4. The actual size in the second picture on left is not 2 inch wide but 1 inch wide and 1/2 inch tall. To the right is the 3/4 x 3/4. Neither are the same size as the original at 1 inch wide and 3/4 tall. Up to you on which size to us when building a pair. I have extra buckles of the 1 inch by 1/2 if you want a couple to try and like the look.

Installed the 1 inch wide 1/2 tall buckle to see how it would look. As soon as the 3/4 wide 3/4 tall one comes in I will install in the other one and show comparison.
