You are correct the 14 is a "factory" higher top end mustang,  that is the only category it outperforms the newer GT500.

Everything else the newer mustang is superior.

And by the way the new mustang GT500's 180-mph governor can and has been compromised already.....

0 to 60, according to Ford is the same.
24 mpg,.....................understand the new one likes gas station, so say it's owners.
Once you alter a governor, are we still talking " factory " specs ?
Don't feel bad, have had the same conversation on other sites, for the same statement..

Interesting thread, several comments on " how many were made ", as if that makes it worth more money !
How many were made only makes it rare, & doesn't add to it's value.
2 examples:

2014 Shelby GT500 - Marti report states it's " 1 of 1 ".

You should buy the car " you " want, optioned to be used the way " you " intend to drive it.
Based on polls, the glass roof is the option most people wished they'd ordered.
I don't & never have considered resale on a purchase.

I ordered a 2011 GT500, one option base model, my Marti report tells me it's " 1 of 2 "
I ordered a 2014 GT500, two option base model, my Marti report tells me it's " 1 of 1 "
I ordered a 2017 F150, Lariat with packages & options, my Marti report tells me it's " 1 of 1 "
My taste in vehicles appears to not be too main stream.
What you think may be a " rare " low # build car, can't be determined from spreadsheets.

I left N.J. for several years during my Navy career, for all it's shortcomings, I came back here to retire.

Always looked @ Shelby as the " cookie cutter " way of modding a Ford product.
100 copies doesn't make it unique.
A 40 hp bump, considering what the tuner shops are turning out, doesn't make it a performer.
@ that price point, someone would really have to need that CSM #..
