Quote from: 98SVT - was 06GT on April 24, 2025, 03:08:42 PMGotta cover the CA fire losses. My Haggerty went up about 5% when I renewed just before the fires. I can't wait to see what next year brings. With the 7% rate increase cap that is CA law I suspect that Haggerty won't offer renewals in CA.

UPDATE: Bought this last Friday. 7-8 months left on Haggerty policy. Cost to insure for remaining time $14 - with 3 car discount.

If only they filled there hydrants with water, did conservation and did controlled burning to prevent fires....

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Adjustment of 715 carb
August 26, 2025, 11:11:40 AM
Looking at the car from the front: What is the procedure of adjustment?
on the drivers side, Idle......I got that, but..
on the drivers side, I think it is a mix adjustment, small screw on the side front plate.
on the passenger side, same plate on the plate.
What is the order of adjustment, I had the carb redone/restored. The car runs great, starts nice, cold or hot, idles nice. After I go out and take it for a ride, I come home and while I am stopping at the garage, the idle slowly goes down and then stalls, restart it and it will do the same thing, I have to sort of keep it running. If I put the idle up to 1100rpm, it is OK....another thing I noticed was, coming down a hill driveway, and using the brakes, it might start to stall again, but even using the brakes, might actually be triggering the stall???? The car is fully hot with these antics start. My question is...Do I need to do a initial set up adjustment? I do not know the procedure...One other thing I feel the the mix screw on the drivers side is correct, (get the idle smoothed out)....However, the other side screw adjustment is weird, as counter clockwise adjustment raises the idle and just keeps going higher as I turn it. I do not remember that ever happening but it has been many years since I had to adjust these carbs. I do not feel that there is a vacuum leak...I have done the tapping of the bowels, nothing changed, I also am not sure how to adjust the floats, if thats the case, because of the 715's setup...(I do know how on a regular holley)...
I hope I do not get 10 different ways to set it up on this?

Both
Classic and Regular vehicle.

Has the insurance been going up for your classic, and regular vehicles? Is it both, classic, or regular insurance??

and if someone calls and the voice is your daughter, wife, son or anyone you know, do not think its them.

Ask them a question that only they would know, if you do not get an answer, hang up. Then call that person directly. (usually, if you ask question, someone else will come on and try to convince you that they need help do not listen to them)

Or hang up and call the person up directly.

Interesting as of my last few orders, I either got inferior parts or the wrong part. My last part that was wrong was 65-66 rear quarter endcap rubber gasket was totally wrong, what they sent was 69-70 front headlight bucket gasket. The time before that I ordered a 66 battery shield for the pos terminal to the side wall, which broke in half because it was brittle. Guess I am out of luck returning the parts for a refund.
