CSX 2000 Series / 289 Mufflers
June 06, 2026, 04:10:38 PM
Any suggestions on where to find, or best muffler choice for a 289 street car? Original exhaust was cut and had makeshift side pipes, I'm wanting to go back to original. Any help would be appreciated.

Up For Auction / 1967 GT500 #0410 on BAT
June 05, 2026, 06:08:04 PM
1967 Shelby GT500 #0410

This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 is one of 2,048 fastbacks produced for the model year and was completed on January 5th. It was first delivered to Brondes Motor Sales in Toledo, Ohio, and it was specified in Nightmist Blue with black Décor upholstery, the Extra Cooling Package, the Interior Décor Group, a fold-down rear seat, a tachometer and trip odometer, power-assisted steering and front disc brakes, and a 428ci Police Interceptor V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car was restored and is believed to have been with a single family for ~30 years before it was acquired by the current owner in 2019. This GT500 is now offered on dealer consignment with an Elite Marti Report, the owner's manual, and an Arizona title.

The GT500 model was equipped with a ducktail rear spoiler, fender extensions, air scoops on the sail and quarter panels, and a fiberglass ventilated hood with a ram-air scoop.

This example is one of 420 delivered in Nightmist Blue with black Décor upholstery, and it was restored by a previous owner.

The 15″ five-spoke Magstar alloy wheels were restored and mounted with reproduction Goodyear Polyglas tires. GT500 models utilized an upgraded suspension system with heavy-duty coil springs and an anti-roll bar up front in addition to heavy-duty leaf springs out back. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The car was ordered with a fold-down rear seat, a Interior Décor Group, and the Courtesy Light Group, and also has a remote-operated side-view mirror. A roll bar with inertia-reel seatbelts was standard in Shelby cars.

The woodgrain steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. Two Stewart-Warner gauges are mounted in pods ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows under 25k miles, fewer than 100 of which were added under current ownership.

The 428ci Police Interceptor V8 was factory equipped with dual four-barrel Holley carburetors and was rated at 335 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. The car was equipped from the factory with a larger radiator as part of the optional Extra Cooling Package. The engine was reportedly rebuilt and balanced as part of the restoration work.

The underside is finished in red oxide primer, and power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic.

Documentation accompanying the car includes a reproduction window sticker and an Elite Marti Report detailing colors, equipment, serial numbers, and production information.

Up For Auction / Re: 6S2263 - Bring A Trailer

Definitely! The seller was there the entire time, the story was there and complete, no lies, and restoration pictures were there as well. I don't get it, especially with the white one selling for 190s. I figured at least 125 to 135k. I would like to know if BAT made him do such a low reserve or the seller picked the low reserve. I get it PCHMOTOHO, I've noticed several auctions this last week complaining about trying to bid and not being able to. The last few days my screen counts down but the page isn't automatically refreshing like normal. Maybe BAT is screwing themselves and needs this looked at. Also it didn't help the market has dropped almost 2% today.

Thanks everyone, we pulled the bladder sent the tank and pieces to a custom race shop, and they built us an entire tank from scratch, test fit it and it was perfect. This was a very early car being number 22 so couldn't find much info on the bladder itself. Thanks again

Suggestions on cleaning these wheels? What are you guys using? Just normal product or something better? I was wondering if the acid cleaner I use on my pontoon would hurt them? Thanks everyone

Quote from: 6S896 on May 19, 2026, 07:55:57 AMThis entire auction was a joke. The seller should have been laughing all the way to the bank.
but when a car doesn't meet its reserve how do we know in fact the top bid was real? I'm not accusing anything but it isn't rare for people to bid up cars for friends or an auction house( not Bat) bid a car up to the reserve. I watched Wayne Carini say that on a car he brought to pebble beach and at an RM auction stating on his TV show that there were no buyers in the room and the auction house can do that. BTW car didn't sell to the high bidder after auction either.

Reason I don't buy auction cars or run my cars through auctions, it's a scam. 4 years ago I bought two cars through GAA, both sellers told me the cars were great "Ready to go" The auction built the car's up explaining all the money for restoration and the success of the builders. Both vehicles were shit, couldn't even get one on the trailer. The rings were shot in one and had a severe rear main oil leak, and brakes didn't work. The other had two flat tires, a dead battery and had to hot wire to get it to crank, finally went to load it and the carb was so shot I couldn't keep her running without severe backfiring. The few I have bought on BAT have all been great cars. Other than buying from individuals I will always use BAT going forth if I have the need for an auction car. With BAT you also have the availability to inspect the car.
then you must be one of the preferred sellers? I know enough " peons" who tried to sell their cars on bat but bat wanted a ridiculously low reserve or no reserve at all. Preferred sellers can pretty much name their reserve which seems the case on this car. I looked at the pics. Wrong date coded engine. Not a restored car. Condition to Hagerty  values the car was bid above above and RNM at 265K? I like the car don't get me wrong and a replaced engine doesn't bother me but I would have bowed out a long time ago bidding wise. BAT is a great venue to sell a car for the most part or even buy one sometimes. Really no commission selling and if you have a no excuses car it should do well most times. So many variables come into play on any given auction.

Actually never sold a car there, only bought two from BAT, I'm a private collector, not a flipper sir. Also not sure why you feel necessary to call me or someone you don't know a peon? Also not sure why you feel necessary with explaining to me how the car market works. I clearly said the seller should have taken the money and ran. No way was that car worth 270k USD. So what is your argument here if I was agreeing with you?

Clearly stated "if I ever had the need to buy an auction car" sorry you took it out of context. You must work for the AP!
