Looking for someone to engrave a set of Gabriel shocks.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: Fender bolt
June 16, 2019, 07:32:39 PM
Car 006 built Nov 67 had SI style bolts on the fenders.
Yes this is the second time I have gone thru a ground up restoration but I can tell which bolts were re-plated.
There were also several 67 style bolts used on the hood and hood spring area. These bolts had the star style washer.

This hose used one of each style clamp and I have included a close up of the tower clamp impression. I hope this opens the door a little on the possibility that tower clamps were used on assembly line cars occasionally.  I can't answer why this happened and don't believe either car were "worked on" after delivery.

My issue will be how to present the car and will the judging community accept the variations?

This is a close up of one end of the upper radiator hose and the impression of the tower clamp.
My conclusion is the hobby wants to think there were no variations on the style clamps used one the other hand how do I present  the car ? (as built or by the accepted standard?)

What type of documentation is needed to convince the judging community that the assembly line actually used this clamp and not get points deducted because of the deviation from the norm ?
This discussion should probably be handle under another topic and in a broader context to cover other parts of the car.

I have the original upper and lower radiator hoses and my early small block radiator hoses had tower style clamps not the band style that Marty is providing.
The ink stamp is also different : top line = FoMoCo A Y  second line C8AE 8260A
It would appear that there are running changes with many parts during 1968.
Anyone have any other observations?
Will post photo later.

Here are photos of car 088 with tower hose clamps.

Car 006, buck tag Nov27, Marty build date Nov14, serial No.....5308, Engine tag 7-H
the other car 088, buck tag Nov21, Marty build date ?, serial No ....5330, engine tag?
Date on pollution canister 9-7-67.
Both cars built very close together. Photos of car 088 with tower hose clamps in My Gallery will try to move to this post.

Both cars were 302 J code engines

Wittek made 2 types of clamps, band style clamps and tower style clamps.
Typically you see the band clamps on the pollution hoses however I've seem several examples where tower clamps were used. I have photos of 2 cars built in Nov 67 with these clamps. Not sure why or how long they were used.

I had small letter Goodyear tires on my car built Nov 21, car #006 information is from the original owner.
