1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Quarter panel question
December 04, 2018, 10:43:08 AM
Other than the side louver/cove area and the reflector holes, is there any difference between a '67 and '68 fastback quarter panel?
My buddy is telling me that the wheel lips are slightly different from '67 to '68. Any truth to that?

                 Thanks, Pete.

 Or resto-mod.  ;) Ha ha.

In conclusion, I don't find it an annoying term, which was the original subject of this post. I do find it now to be overused. Personally I've never liked 'resto-mods', they rate right up there with rat rods on my dislike-o-meter.  I can appreciate the time, effort and money that goes into them, just not my thing.

Refurbished for reliability..... I like that. Totally works.

....or headers, chrome valve covers, aftermarket wheels etc......ya right, all original.

"Older restoration". Meaning it needs to be restored again.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the infamous 'no tire kickers or test pilots'  lol

Started cleaning the undercarriage on the KR. UNBELIEVABLE!  Totally blown away at how clean the underside of this car is.
With the exception of where the tunnel was hacked out, and a couple of spots, and not to get all cliche', the floors and frames look as if it just rolled off the assembly line. I'm totally convinced now that the 21,000 miles on the odometer is true and correct.
The primer, the overspray, the sealer; incredible. I'm going to continue cleaning and just leave it alone.
Will try to post some more pics if anyone is interested.

Well, me too. This is indeed an original panel?
