1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Pop Rivets
August 25, 2020, 02:08:25 PM
I am curious to know if there is a specific size pop rivet (length and diameter) for the hood pin plates and the side brake scoops on the 66' GT350.  Also, were they aluminum or stainless steel?  Thanks!

My 66 GT350 is a factory auto trans car (non-Hertz), however the original trans is long gone.  The current auto trans in the car is not a C servo trans, but operates just fine.  I would prefer a 4 speed.  I know everyone's car is personal to them, but I would be interested in members thoughts on replacing the auto with a manual trans (engine is original).  Money is not the main issue, but I do want to make sure I maintain the car's value.  I would appreciate members feedback on this conversion.
Thanks!

Parts For Sale / K Code Hi-Po Auto Trans For Sale
April 16, 2020, 04:38:31 PM
I have an original K Code Hi-Po auto trans with the fat "C" servo for sale. Both the case and the original metal tag are dated August 19,1965.  It is being sold with the original torque converter and fly wheel - a complete unit.  The trans case is very clean, but it would be best to go through it to determine if a rebuild is necessary.  It is priced at $5500.  If SAAC 45 goes ahead as planned, I could possibly deliver to the event.  Please PM me for pictures and/or questions.  Located in WI.

Thanks, Kerry

I'm looking for some insight into the approximate date for an auto trans. Based on sheet metal dates, engine date, etc., I have concluded my 6S1645 was built in early to mid-March, 1966.  The auto trans I currently have is an original K-code Hi-Po auto trans with the fat "C" servo and the original metal tag with an August, 1965 build date.  Is it possible this could be the right trans build date range for my car, or would this be too early?  If it is too early, what would the appropriate date range be for a March, 1966 Shelby auto trans build be?  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I'm looking to do a light cleaning on the face of my '66 GT350 tach.  I don't want to disassemble the entire tach since it works great.  I would prefer to just remove the front cover.  Any advice before I blindly tear into it?

Thanks, Kerry

I'm looking for some help with the identification of a 1966 Hipo Auto Trans.  Specifically, what are the casting codes on the C servo, tail shaft and main body next to selector rod.  I have found some information on line, but would rather hear from someone with first hand knowledge.  Thanks in advance for your help.
