1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Radiator Paint
April 26, 2021, 03:34:19 PM
Just delivered my original radiator for re-core at a local shop.  Is there anything available in a spray can that replicates OE finish?  I've used Eastwood radiator black in the past and a difficult time getting it to adhere.  Also looking for a correct petcock source

Swap Meet / 66 Brake Duct needed
April 08, 2021, 09:32:37 AM
Hi All,

I have 2 original brake duct outlets for trade.  One is missing some pieces and the other is intact with a slight crack (easy fix).  I would like to trade both for an original inlet.  I have attached pictures of the 2 I'm offering and for reference a picture of what I need.

Thanks

I'm preparing to install the rear quarter window frames I just recently got back from Shelby Parts.  They are fully assembled and ready to be riveted in place. I'm looking for details on sealer type and area of application around the aluminum frames.  How far to the outside of the frame is the sealer visible if at all? Any pointers on process of installing would also be helpful.

I've restored and installed the traction master under ride bars on 1816.  The original tubes both had a slight bend that were straightened out.  My concern is will they just bend again once I start driving the car?  Are the newer tubes with the correct end marking sold by traction Master made with thicker wall tubing or will they bend up just as easily?  I don't plan on changing any of the original mounting brackets just the tubes.  With the reasonable price for the complete set and accurate tube markings I was thinking may be a good choice.  Any advise or opinion appreciated.

Hi all,

I'm coming to the final stages of completing 6S1816.  I would like to see a properly restored 66 that has been judged and received a Bronze or higher.  If there are any unrestored original cars within my area having an opportunity to view one would be terrific.  If  you're willing to allow me to see your car and take pictures I would greatly appreciate the opportunity.

Thank you

Remember this movie?  The car was always cool (except for the 1 tire burnout).  I noticed Tuck was strapped into the pod with Ray Browns

Concours Talk / 1966 289 HiPo Waterpump
May 07, 2020, 03:46:34 PM
What is the criteria for the water pump on a 66 Shelby?  Other than the casting number and correct paint what would determine an accurate part?  I have a few with casting and hub differences.  If the only thing being judged is paint and casting number would either be correct with no point deductions?

I have pictures in the 1966 Shelby section under "Water Pump"

Thank you -

Here is a picture of original rear view mirror from 66 Hertz.  Is it true they were painted this color for easy spotting in Shelby's lot prior to shipping?  Is this red paint rear view correct for a 66 Hertz?

Picture taken at SAAC II 1977 in Hershey PA.  Looks like an all black no stripe car.  Does the inboards look to have the early setup?
